Provident Digital economy Sustainability Trade President reports Easing inflation may help India counter the headwinds from trade tensions: RBI Bulletin
The RBI report stated that India’s external sector continues to find support from resilient services exports, which remain less affected by global disruptions. “Going forward, India’s structural strengths—sound fiscal policies, a well-calibrated monetary framework, and digital transformation initiatives—are expected to provide a strong foundation for long-term sustainable economic growth,” the report stated. The RBI lowered the benchmark policy rate by 25 basis points to 6.26% in February, and the easing inflation print triggered economists to forecast another 25 bps cut in rates in April, according to an ET poll of 12 economists. After taking charge, President Donald Trump announced a series of tariff proposals leading to uncertainty on growth in both emerging and advanced markets. The pass-through of higher tariffs to consumer prices would be a key risk to global inflation, and central banks in advanced economies would have to factor in a potential slowdown in growth.

Williams Banner students Celebrity Schools Features Colleges Joy at Kalpana Chawla's Karnal school as Sunita Williams safely returns
Tagore Baal Niketan rejoiced alongside millions as Indian-origin astronaut Sunita Williams returned to Earth after 286 days in space. The school is also renowned for nurturing Kalpana Chawla, the first Indian-origin woman in space. The first Indian to achieve this feat was Rakesh Sharma, who journeyed aboard the Russian spacecraft Soyuz T-11 in 1984. Born in Karnal in 1962, Kalpana Chawla tragically lost her life on February 1, 2003, when the Columbia spacecraft disintegrated over Texas and Louisiana, killing all seven astronauts on board. Chawla completed her schooling at Tagore Baal Niketan and earned a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Engineering from Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh, in 1982. She moved to the United States later that year. The school, with a history spanning over six decades, has honored her legacy by dedicating an auditorium in her memory. Its principal, Dr Rajan Lamba said, «Everyone was happy and relieved at the safe return of Sunita William and fellow astronauts… Due to ongoing school Board exams, we could not hold celebrations in the school, but everyone was happy including students, teachers.» He reminisced about the Columbia Space Shuttle, recalling vivid memories and a series of letters exchanged between the school's founder and Chawla before her mission.

This growth trajectory is now translating into significant salary increases for employees, especially for specialised skills which are commanding higher premiums than ever before,» NLB Services CEO Sachin Alug said. However, he said, despite this strong momentum, gender-based disparities still require attention, with women earning approximately 75-85 per cent of male salaries on average, a gap which further widens at senior positions, reflecting the limited representation in leadership roles.
