US investment firm Vanguard cuts Ola's valuation further to $3.5 billion
Vanguard Group have cut the value of their holdings in ANI Technologies, the parent firm of ride-hailing startup Ola, to $3.5 billion – down over 50% from a peak of $7.3 billion – regulatory filings made by the investor with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on Monday showed. The latest filing reflected Ola’s valuation as of May 31 in the investor’s books.

NEW DELHI : NXP Semiconductors, founded as a division of Royal Philips NV, is open to setting up a fabrication unit in India, subject to the development of a suitable ecosystem in the country, said Hitesh Garg, vice-president and India country manager. “If there is an ecosystem developed here, we will support the ecosystem. We will make sure that we are doing the manufacturing of our chips which are possible to be done here in India," Garg said, reiterating views expressed by NXP chief executive officer Kurt Sievers, who was in India earlier this year and met Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

US biggest export destination for Indian smartphones in April-May: Government
India exported USD 2.43 billion worth of smartphones in April-May this fiscal, driven by a multifold jump in shipments to the US which emerged as the biggest destination for India-made devices, according to the government data. The smartphone exports to the US jumped multiple times to USD 812.49 million during the first two months of this fiscal as against USD 92.2 million in April-May 2022-23, the commerce ministry data showed. The US accounted for one-third of the shipments in value terms.

United Breweries Ltd has reported a 16.09 per cent decline in consolidated net profit at Rs 136.34 crore for the first quarter ended June 2023, as volumes were impacted by supply challenges, lower inter-state sales and persisting inflation. The company, controlled by Dutch multinational brewing company Heineken NV, had posted a net profit of Rs 162.50 crore in the April-June quarter a year ago, United Breweries Ltd (UBL) said in a late-night regulatory filing on Friday. UBL's revenue from operations was almost flat to Rs 5,243.01 crore during the quarter under review.

The Dutch coast guard, in charge of managing the situation, has reported that a cargo ship carrying nearly 3,800 cars and construction vehicles is expected to keep burning for several more days.
