Former police officer convicted in death of George Floyd is stabbed in prison, say reports
Derek Chauvin, the former Minneapolis police officer convicted in the death of George Floyd, was stabbed in federal prison on Friday and seriously injured, the Associated Press said, citing a person familiar with the matter. Floyd's death in 2020 unleashed a wave of protests worldwide against police brutality and racism after Chauvin, who is white, knelt on the handcuffed Black man's neck for more than nine minutes in a murder caught on cellphone video. The Federal Bureau of Prisons confirmed an unidentified inmate was assaulted at the Federal Correctional Institution in Tucson in Arizona, but declined to confirm if it was Chauvin. Chauvin, 47, was stabbed by another inmate at the prison, the news agency said, citing a source who was not authorized to discuss the attack and sought anonymity. The New York Times also reported Chavin was stabbed, citing two people with knowledge of the matter. In its statement, the Bureau said employees of the medium security prison responded to the attack and «initiated life-saving measures» for one individual, who was taken by emergency medical services to a hospital for treatment. No employees were injured and the public was never in danger from the incident at 12:30 p.m. MST.

2024 US Presidential Election: Donald Trump eligible for Colorado's primary ballot, judge dismisses lawsuit
Donald Trump can remain on the state's presidential primary ballot, said Colorado District Judge Sarah Wallace on Friday. He rejected the arguments that Trump violated his oath of office by engaging in an insurrection. This came after similar court decisions in Minnesota and Michigan that left Trump on the ballot in those states, according to a report published by AFP. The rulings mark a victory for the former Republican President as he staves off well-funded legal challenges seeking to bar his return to the White House in elections next year.

Draymond Green: 5 most roughest ejections of the player
Draymond Green, the star forward for the Golden State Warriors, was ejected during Tuesday's In-Season Tournament game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Green was one among three players ejected for choking Wolves standout Rudy Gobert while defending teammate Klay Thompson. Green was ejected for the 18th time in his 12-year career (regular season and playoffs combined), the most of any active player. Green's ejection on Tuesday, on the other hand, was notably nasty, with many clamoring for a lengthy punishment for the star forward. Many people wondered if it was Green's most violent ejection of his career.

Adam Johnson cause of death: What happened to ice hockey player?
Adam Johnson's death in England has shocked everyone and now a man has been apprehended by the police in connection with the incident. The individual in custody faces charges of suspicion of manslaughter. However, the identity has not yet been disclosed. The arrest follows an investigation by South Yorkshire Police into the circumstances surrounding 29-year-old Johnson's death on October 31, characterized as a «freak accident» by the Nottingham Panthers. Johnson, a player for the Panthers, tragically lost his life when his neck was cut by the skate blade of Matt Petgrave from the Sheffield Steelers during an on-ice collision. Following the incident, Johnson was rushed to the Northern General Hospital in Sheffield by ambulance, where he was declared dead, as stated in the Sheffield coroner’s report. A post-mortem examination confirmed that Johnson's cause of death was a neck injury, according to the police. This unfortunate incident has prompted increased scrutiny of player safety in the sport. In response, the English Ice Hockey Association has mandated the use of neck guards for all players during on-ice activities, starting from December 31. Adam Johnson hailed from Minnesota and had a brief stint with the Pittsburgh Penguins in the National Hockey League (NHL). Last week, public and private memorials were held for Johnson in Hibbing, Minn., with a heartfelt eulogy shared by his fiancee, Ryan Wolfe.
