NASA bumps two astronauts to rescue Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore from ISS
Nasa announced on Friday that it will remove two astronauts from an upcoming SpaceX flight to make space for two astronauts currently stranded at the International Space Station (ISS). Nasa astronauts Zena Cardman and Stephanie Wilson will be removed from the mission but are expected to join future missions. This decision was made considering factors such as spaceflight experience. Nasa’s Nick Hague and Russian astronaut Aleksandr Gorbunov are set to launch aboard a SpaceX rocket to the ISS in September. They will return in February with the astronauts stranded at the ISS, Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore. Williams and Wilmore had originally embarked on a one-week mission aboard Boeing's Starliner since June. However, due to technical problems like helium leaks and thruster malfunctions, their stay on the ISS has been extended.

No positive boost from DNC, can Harris beat Trump in November? Here's what latest polls say
Kamala Harris's closing remarks during the Democratic National Convention last night had little effect on attendees' intentions to vote. But there might be a change in the presidential contest now that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is apparently withdrawing later today. According to FiveThirtyEight's most recent average of national polls, Harris leads Trump by 3.5 points. National polls have shown Harris to be slightly ahead of Trump on average, but the race is still close with swing states. According to the most recent national survey conducted by Outward Intelligence from August 18 to 22, Harris has not yet experienced any favorable boost following this week's DNC. Harris continues to lead Trump by +6 points in this poll, with 49.5 percent of the vote. But nothing has changed from the same poll conducted last week. According to the polls, both Trump and Harris would gain ground in a straight-up contest; however, Trump would narrow Harris's lead, with 48 percent to the vice president's 52 percent. Will Joe Biden resign to pave way for Kamala Harris? Democrats have these three options
Joe Biden has refused to pull out of the race for the White House in the most unambiguous words, some people believe that he would have to step aside sooner or later and it is not the question of if but when. In an article published in 'New York Post', journalist Henry Olsen wrote that a candidate can come back from a deficit of six points, but before the disastrous first presidential debate on June 27, Biden had the lowest job approval ratings of any first-term president in history. It would be difficult for him to make a comeback from where he is after the debate. The data leaked by Open Labs made it clear that the Democrat contender is behind or tied in normally Democratic states like Minnesota, New Mexico and Virginia. These data were consistent with a 6-point deficit, which is a 10.5-point drop from Biden’s 2020 victory margin. So, there is an uphill task for the incumbent president.

NASA: Boeing Starliner crew enjoys extended stay on ISS, they're in no 'rush to come home'
NASA has announced an extension of astronauts Butch Wilmore and Sunita Williams' mission aboard Boeing's Starliner capsule, launched on June 5. This decision follows technical issues that have delayed their return from the International Space Station (ISS), prompting ongoing evaluations and ground testing. Nasa's commercial crew program manager, Steve Stich, emphasised that the astronauts are safe and in no rush to return, saying, «We're not in any rush to come home.» The official mentioned that the duo is having a pleasant stay aboard the space station. He said, «enjoying their time on the space station,» and further added, «our plan is to continue to return them on Starliner and return them home at the right time.»

NASA's Starliner undocking: Sunita Williams' return to Earth from ISS set for THIS date
ISS after many delays as the spacecraft experienced challenges including four helium leaks and five malfunctions of its 28 maneuvering thrusters."The extra time allows the team to finalize departure planning and operations while the spacecraft remains cleared for crew emergency return scenarios within the flight rules," NASA and Boeing said in a statement. As per NASA, the return to Earth is expected to last about six hours and target a location in the desert of Utah, New Mexico or other backup locations, depending on local weather conditions. The agency said, “They are targeting a departure no earlier than June 22, leaving open an opportunity for further extensions of time at the ISS.
