Wall Street indexes close up; data keeps smaller Fed rate cut in view
Wall Street's main indexes closed higher on Thursday after the latest inflation data reinforced expectations for a 25-basis point rate cut by the Federal Reserve, while Moderna's weak revenue forecast made it the S&P 500's biggest percentage loser. The producer price index (PPI) for final demand rose 0.2% in August, compared with estimates for 0.1% growth. The core number, which strips out volatile food and energy prices, rose 0.3%, higher than the 0.2% forecast.

Minorities safest in India: Union minister Kiren Rijiju
Kiren Rijiju on Wednesday hit out at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his remarks on minorities and said they are the safest in India. Responding to a question on Gandhi's remarks in the US that RSS considers some religions, languages and communities inferior to others, Rijiju said, «No matter the amount of effort made, India cannot be defamed because India's Constitution and culture do not differentiate between people.» He said people who want to defame India with the help of anti-India forces will not succeed. The Minister for Minority Affairs who also holds the Parliamentary Affairs portfolio pointed out that minorities in India's neighbourhood come here if something wrong happens to them there.

Did Tim Walz commit a $250 million Covid fraud? He has been subpoenaed for that
Tim Walz has always been focused on creating universal meal schemes for school children. It is being alleged that the taxpayers dime was instead funneled to fund the purchase of luxury vehicles and real-estate in different parts of the world under the garb of a fraudulent Minneapolis-based NGO named 'Feeding Our Future.' Republican U.S. Representative from North Carolina Virginia Foxx, chair of the committee, has sent out subpoenas to Kamala Harris' running mate and Minnesota Education Commissioner Willie Jett for what is being touted as the 'biggest COVID-related scam in the United States.
