Despite Western pressure, China in no hurry to reduce Russia support
dual-use materials and weapons components to Russia, Beijing has no interest in dropping its backing for President Vladimir Putin, analysts say. While China does not want to upend its ties with the West, and insists it is not sending lethal weapons to Moscow, Washington has stressed that Russia would struggle to sustain its assault on Ukraine without Beijing. On Thursday, Putin arrived in China on a two-day visit as Moscow is seeking more support from President Xi Jinping for the war effort in Ukraine following multiple rounds of Western sanctions.

IPL 2024 SRH vs GT Dream 11 Predictions: Match 66 preview, possible playing XI, head-to-head stats
IPL 2024 SRH vs GT: High-flying Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will take on Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad on May 16 tomorrow. As per the weekday IPL tradition, it will be an evening match and it will commence at 7.30 pm. While Pat Cummins-led SRH have won seven games out of 12 played so far, GT are out of the playoff race due to Motera washout. This match will be very important for the SRH as those precious two points will help them in qualifying for the playoffs and seal the spot after KKR and RR. If one looks at Shubman Gill-led GT’s 2024 campaign, they posted wins in five out of 12 games that they played. Though they could have a shot at playoff had the Ahmedabad match was not abandoned. AT present, they have eight points in their kitty.

Indian IT giants ride US jobs boom, hire more and more techies
tech companies in the US added an estimated 6,000 workers last month. Indian IT giants have established a robust presence in the US, with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) employing 50,000 people, Infosys 35,000, HCL Technologies 24,000, Wipro 20,000, and LTI Mindtree 6,500. Together, these companies contribute around 2% to the US tech industry workforce, as per an HDFC Securities report. The widespread presence of these firms across various US locations positions them advantageously for the ongoing demand recovery. The surge in job growth has been primarily driven by hiring in technology services, software development, and cloud infrastructure. In March, US employers posted 191,000 new job openings for tech positions, marking an increase of 8,000 from the previous month and the highest volume since August 2023.
