markets COST FIVE economy country rights International What should investors do to maximise returns for the next 5-10 years? Ray Dalio explains
Raymond T Dalio, Founder, CIO Mentor, says “avoid indebtedness, debt assets, minimize the debt assets and then to diversify into various locations. No one asset class, no one country, no one currency should be concentrated in because of the nature of that. So, look at those good places and then look for good leadership. Dalio further says: “Should the United States weaken its currency status, other countries also will have weaker currencies and then there would be an emergence of alternatives such as most importantly likely gold or currencies that tend to depreciate together. If you have a lot of debt and the United States has a lot of debt that most importantly results in a lot of sales of debt, that money probably has to be printed. For the US dollar to lose its status relative to other countries would require another currency to become dominant. You always look at the world based on five factors – economy and credit, internal peace and conflict, external issues between countries, climate change and technology. If you have to look at the mechanics of the world, rather than giving an audience a fish to eat, if they have to know the trick of how to catch the next fish, how would you put your thoughts into play and explain some of these pointers, the number one being economy and credit? Raymond T Dalio: Yes, you are right.

Benjamin Netanyahu did not provide details or a timeline, but the announcement set off panic and warnings from diplomats. markets UPS Progressive economy President show reports US inflation slows, fed rate cuts expected
US inflation likely continued to slow at the start of the year, helping to feed expectations that the Federal Reserve will find interest-rate cuts more palatable in the coming months. The core consumer price index, a measure that excludes food and fuel for a better picture of underlying inflation, is seen increasing 3.7% in January from a year earlier. That would mark the smallest year-over-year advance since April 2021, and underscore the inroads Fed Chair Jerome Powell and his colleagues have made in beating back inflation.

UPS Man Manufacturing Sustainability Research country International Indian space sector to be turned into a business activity: ISRO chairman
Indian space sector is changing from a «closed» and «secretive» society to an open one and the objective behind it is to turn it into an economic or business activity instead of government programme, ISRO Chairman S Somanath said here on Saturday. The change in mindset has been influenced by how space-related activities in countries like the USA have been turned into an economic activity, Somnath said while speaking at the Mathrubhumi International Festival of Letters (MBIFL) 2024 being held at Kanakakunnu Palace here. The ISRO Chairman said that in the past 60 years, the work of the space sector — from making rockets to satellites — was aimed at societal application, for delivering services that benefit the common man. As a result, the budget of the space programme was «very less» — Rs 10,000 crore, he said during a session of the fifth edition of the MBIFL.

Williams Career Fighting tennis show testing Sporting Simona Halep's complicated CAS hearing explained. And, what is Roxadustat?
Simona Halep has been fighting “the hardest match” of her life. Now, the former World No 1 and Wimbledon champion awaits the verdict of a three-person independent panel at the Court of Arbitration of Sport (CAS) in Switzerland. If Halep loses, her career will be all but over, and tennis will have its biggest doping scandal since Maria Sharapova tested positive for meldonium in 2016. Halep is appealing a four-year ban imposed by the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) after testing positive for the banned substance Roxadustat at the 2022 US Open, while investigators also found irregularities in her biological passport. Halep denies wrongdoing and has blamed contaminated nutritional supplements for the findings. The charges brought before the CAS panel are serious, however. Roxadustat is used for the treatment of anaemia, but in a sporting context is prohibited because of its capacity to boost the production of red blood cells in the body. Its effect is similar to EPO, the doping product that has plagued major endurance sports such as cycling’s Tour de France.
