Democrats worried after Biden’s bizarre claims in a radio interview even after the questions were vetted by his team
CNN, two radio presenters who got an opportunity to interview US President Joe Biden expressed their surprise that the president could not answer even questions that were pre-approved by his team. The president had the questions given to him before the interview and yet he could not answer coherently. This just adds to a growing number of media reports that have suggested a ‘cognitive decline’ in the US President. A Philadelphia radio show host said that Biden’s team had fed her questions before the interview. She said that the president made certain bizarre claims during the interview. This has been reported by the New York Post.

TCS Q1 profit rises 8.7%; wage hikes, demand slump drag sequential numbers
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) reported a sequential 3.16% drop in net profit in the June quarter due to the impact of wage hikes for many of its 600,000-plus workforce and an unabated slowdown in demand. TCS posted a net profit of Rs 12,040 crore, below analyst expectations but 8.7% up from the year earlier. It reported revenue of Rs 62,613 crore, up 5.4% from the year earlier and 2.25% sequentially. The company didn’t signal any significant uptick in technology services demand, which has hit an all-time low due to macroeconomic uncertainties and geopolitical strife that’s impacted the key markets of the US, the UK and Europe. Much of the incremental growth came from the Rs 15,000 crore deal with state-owned telco Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) signed last year that led to its India business showing a jump of 61.8% from the year earlier.

As the age of AI dawns upon us, it has brought excitement and trepidation in equal measure. The trepidation was mostly around AI-generated deepfakes and how they could change voter minds, influence elections and thus subvert democracy. This was especially true in India, as almost a billion voters were electing a new government.

Finally, a Russian scientist puts an American conspiracy theory to rest
Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin walking on the moon and planting the American flag there. They say the photos and videos of moon landing were all staged like a film production. The conspiracy theory has thrived on the internet, refusing to die despite persistent debunking by scientists and media. Finally, a statement from a scientist from Russia, a rival space power and now an inimical force, can put this conspiracy theory to rest since the conspiracy theorists won't be able to find Russia's interest in confirming the truth of the moon landing. The US is the only country so far to land humans on the moon. Luna 25, Russia's first lunar mission, failed in 2023 when it aimed a soft landing on the Moon's South Pole but crashed on the Moon and was lost. Both India and China have successfully landed craft on the moon.
