TCIL may sell 15% stake in Bharti Hexacom in two or more tranches
TCIL) is likely to sell its remaining 15% share in Bharti Hexacom in multiple tranches for a windfall income. «The government is considering selling out 15% share in Bharti Hexacom in two or more tranches to maximise the proceeds.Decision not to sell the complete stake in one go previously helped the government to maximise its return by more than 60% over its target value of Rs 9,500-crore. Selling the balance stake in multiple tranches will further enhance value maximization for the government,» a senior Department of Telecommunications (DoT) official told ET. In April this year, the public sector firm sold 15% equity of the total 30% it had in Sunil Mittal-driven Bharti's unit Bharti Hexacom that fetched Rs 4,275-crore to the state exchequer at Rs 570 per share.

G20 must build a global consensus on inclusive, sustainable growth
G20 Summit in Brazil on Monday and Tuesday will bring leaders of all major economies together once again. The task before them is cut out. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is representing India for a record eleventh successive time. Such continuity is an advantage in a world of turmoil...when there is a deficit of global governance. Nothing is more powerful than the force of example. Since the first G20 Summit in 2008, and particularly since 2014, India has been a source of economic stability and growth. India, the fastest growing large economy, has quadrupled its GDP to almost $4 trillion since 2008. It is on track to become the third-largest economy in the next few years.

BJP's 'chota popat' jibe at Rahul Gandhi after he mocks PM Modi's 'ek hain toh safe hain' slogan
Rahul Gandhi's swipe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Ek hai toh safe hai' slogan, the BJP hit back at the Congress leader on Monday, calling him "chota popat" which it claimed was coined by Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray to mock him. The party also slammed Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge over his «poisonous snakes should be killed» barb, saying it shows the party's Emergency mindset which likens rivals to snakes and incites violence against them. Earlier in the day, claiming a link between the BJP's slogan and the Dharavi redevelopment project being given to the Adani Group, Gandhi pulled out two posters from a safe he had brought to his press conference in Mumbai — one featuring a picture of industrialist Gautam Adani and PM Modi along with the caption «Ek hai toh Safe hai» and another showing a map of the project. «It was a very low-level press conference. Bringing a safe and creating drama around it, holding of this kind of press conference by the so-called top leader of the so-called national party does not suit Rahul Gandhi and the Congress,» BJP MP and national spokesperson Sambit Patra said reacting to Gandhi's jibe.

Modi building wall between Gujarati and others: Uddhav
Uddhav Thackeray claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah are erecting a barrier between Gujarat and the rest of the country by prioritising Gujarat above other states. «I keep saying, I don't have any issues with Gujaratis or Gujaratis. Those Gujarati brothers and sisters who are watching this, you have been living for several years in Mumbai and Maharashtra. We have never fought. However, between you (Gujarati) and the rest of the country Modi and Shah are building a wall that you need to be careful about,» said Thackeray. The UBT Sena President was addressing a rally at the Bandra Kurla complex on Sunday. He added, «Modi and Shah may go but this wall that is being built would be worse than the German wall. It would take years to break this wall and till then there would be a lot of mayhem. Why are you doing this sin? If you take all our industries and business from here to Gujarat then what do the people in this state supposed to do,» questioned Uddhav Thackeray.

MP CM Mohan Yadav's visit to UK, Germany: Congress calls it 'open drama for investment'
Congress on Saturday dubbed Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav's tour of United Kingdom and Germany as «open drama in the name of investment» and jibed that he wanted to be an «international tourist» like Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party hit back by calling the Congress «anti-development» and said it was not «tourism but drawing investment for the betterment of the state». Yadav will be visiting the two European nations from November 23 to December 1. In a statement, MP Congress chief Jitu Patwari said, «An open drama going on in the name of investment in Madhya Pradesh. Crores of rupees are being spent in the name of government publicity. Tripura: Congress ignored contribution of tribals in India's fight for independence, says Scindia
Jyotiraditya Scindia on Friday criticised the Congress for overlooking the significant contributions of the tribal community in India's fight for independence. Speaking at a programme marking the birth anniversary of tribal freedom fighter Birsa Munda, the DoNER and communications minister called the tribal leaders «heroes not only for the tribal community but for the entire nation.» «Birsa Munda fought a decisive battle against British rule and made the ultimate sacrifice for Bharat Mata. He is a hero to 140 crore people in India, not just the janajati (tribal) community,» Scindia said, asserting that India's history would be incomplete without acknowledging the tribal contributions to the freedom struggle. Taking aim at the Congress, Scindia claimed that the tribals were neglected under its rule and their historical contributions were forgotten.

Rahul's Constitution waving concept stolen from Latin America, has boomeranged: Fadnavis
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's waving of a red cover Constitution copy is a concept stolen from campaigns in a Latin American nation featuring «anarchist forces», Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and senior BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis said on Thursday. Speaking to select members of the press here, he also said the concept had boomeranged on the opposition, especially after it was revealed in a Congress rally in Nagpur that the inside pages of the Constitution copy Gandhi waves are blank. «This concept is stolen from a Latin American nation where elections were fought taking along anarchist forces and involved waving copies of the Constitution. This is not an original concept of the Congress,» the senior BJP leader said. The concept of waving a copy of the Constitution was a hit till the Nagpur fiasco, Fadnavis asserted. «What can be a greater insult to the Constitution? Can't you print proper copies of the Constitution? You chant the name of the Constitution but circulate a blank book. They (Congress) are wearing a burkha (veil) of the Constitution but are blank inside. They have no respect for the Constitution,» Fadnavis said.

eVTOL player ePlane raises $14 million, anticipates parallel aviation industry & new jobs
ePlane Company, incubated at IIT-Madras and aiming to become one of the main players in India’s electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) mobility sector, on Friday announced the closure of a $14 million funding round. With this funding, ePlane is poised to become the largest-funded eVTOL player in India, the company said in a statement. Founder of the startup and IIT-Madras aerospace engineering professor Satya Chakravarthy told ET that the government's support and announcement of certification standards have helped strengthen investor confidence. “Among the new investors, we can clearly see that their conviction about air taxis is much stronger compared to their interest in just commercialising drones,” he said. The Series B round was co-led by Speciale Invest and Antares Ventures, with continued participation from Micelio Mobility, Naval Ravikant, Java Capital, Samarthya Investment Advisors, Redstart (from Naukri), and Anicut.

Ajit Pawar on Tuesday supported Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'ek hai to safe hai' slogan, but opposed Yogi Adityanath's refrain 'batenge to katenge', terming it alien to Maharashtra's ideological heritage. Supporting Prime Minister Narendra Modi's campaign slogan of «ek hai to safe hai', he said India will be safe if it remained united. »There is nothing wrong with that (slogan), I don't see any issue here.
