All PSUs, road contracts, seaports and airports were being handed to Modi’s friends, she said. “Tribals are the soul of Wayanad.” The AICC leader accused the NDA regime of weakening the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee (MNREGA) programme while interacting with women labourers in the plantation regions of Wayanad. She also highlighted her concerns about the programme in her campaign speeches.

Pralhad Joshi on Monday said India has been re-elected as the President of Indian Solar Alliance (ISA) from 2024 to 2026. Congress MP Manickam Tagore has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, expressing concern over the National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority's recent decision to increase prices of eight commonly-used drugs and sought the establishment of an independent review committee to assess the real impact of the price hike. In the letter, Tagore said he was writing to express his concern regarding the recent decision by the National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) to increase the ceiling prices of eight commonly-used drugs by 50 per cent. «While I understand that the government cited 'extraordinary circumstances' and 'public interest' as reasons for this increase, I believe it is crucial to clarify the rationale behind such a significant decision,» the Congress MP from Tamil Nadu's Virudhunagar said. «This price hike affects vital medications for conditions like asthma, tuberculosis, bipolar disorder, and glaucoma, which are essential for millions of citizens,» Tagore said.

Tejas Mark-1A jets for the Indian Air Force (IAF) has been delayed due to issues in the supply of engines by General Electric (GE), giving another blow to its already depleted operational capabilities, TOI reported. The delivery of the jets, initially scheduled for 2024-25, will now see only two to three jets instead of the promised 16, according to TOI sources. Hindustan Aeronautics (HAL) faces a delay of around two years as GE has promised to supply the engines by March 2025. The deal for these 83 single-engine jets was signed in February 2021 and amounted to Rs 46,898 crore.

Tata-Airbus aircraft complex, that will produce the C295 military transport aircraft, can pave the way for developing and manufacturing civil aircraft to meet the needs of India and the world in the future, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Monday. Speaking after inaugurating the complex with his Spanish counterpart Pedro Sanchez, the Prime Minister stressed that the facility reflects the work culture of a new India and is in line with the 'Make in India, Make for the World' slogan. The complex in Vadodara will produce at least 52 of the military transport aircraft, with the first expected to be ready by 2026. Noting the growing demand of civil aircraft in India, the PM said that domestic airlines have ordered 1,200 planes in the recent past as air connectivity is being increased to hundreds of small cities as well.

FSIB, the headhunter for directors of state-owned banks and financial institutions, on Monday recommended Ashok Chandra for the position of Managing Director (MD) and CEO of Punjab National Bank (PNB). He is currently the Executive Director of Canara Bank. He will replace Atul Kumar Goel who retires in December. The Financial Services Institutions Bureau (FSIB) interviewed 16 candidates for the position of MD & CEO of PNB, FSIB said in a statement.

C-295 aircraft facility inaugurated in Vadodara was earlier supposed to be set up in Nagpur and alleged that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's instructions, the Centre and the Mahayuti dispensation have conspired to ensure the "wholesale surrender" of Maharashtra's interests.
