BJP and 400 plus for the NDA in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is leading from the front being the face of the party campaign. Sources tell ET that PM Modi will reach out to every Lok Sabha constituency with 'Modi Ki Guarantee' campaign. As per party sources, the number of rallies by Modi is likely to exceed the 2019 election number. In 2019, Modi addressed 142 public rallies and four roadshows reaching out directly to an estimated 1.5 crore people. Till Thursday, PM Modi has addressed 11 rallies across nine states since the announcement of elections. He has addressed two rallies each in Telangana and Karnataka, one each in Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Tamil Nadu, UP, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan and West Bengal. As per the schedule planned for Modi, he will address one rally for every three to four Lok Sabha seats. In states like UP, Bihar, Maharashtra which have 40 or more than 40 seats, Modi will address 18 to 25 rallies. Apart from that, the PM has also taken up the task of energising the party workers through interaction at the booth level and online tiffin meetings.

Laos, who were lured into unsafe and illegal work, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Saturday lauded the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his commitment towards the safety of citizens. Jaishankar took to social media platform X to express his gratitude to Indian Embassy im Laos for their diligent efforts in coordinating the rescue operation. Pushkar Singh Dhami Saturday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set the target of winning more than 400 seats in the Lok Sabha polls as he is confident of the strength of the BJP's dedicated cadre. Dhami was speaking at a programme organised at the BJP's state office here on the occasion of the party's foundation day. «The target of winning more than 400 seats has been set by the prime minister as he is confident about your strength,» he said. «Your hard work and dedication have made the BJP the world's largest political party,» Dhami added.

Congress on the issue of corruption, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said the opposition party is in panic as he has shut their «shop of loot» and it was holding rallies not to win the elections but to save the corrupt. Addressing an election rally in Ajmer, Modi called the Congress a party of «dynasts and corrupt» that is bereft of both principles and policies. «Wherever there is Congress, there cannot be any development. The Congress never thought about the poor, marginalised and youths… These people considered looting public money as their ancestral right. In the last 10 years, Modi has provided a permanent cure for the disease,» the prime minister said. Modi said that the third term of his government is not far and the government is going to take even bigger decisions against corruption in the first 100 days.

Lok Sabha polls are «not fair» with opposition parties being targeted but despite that, the INDIA bloc will get a clear majority in the elections due to the public response to its "five nyay, 25 guarantees", senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh said on Saturday. He also said the people of the country will «decisively reject» all attempts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make the elections «unfree and unfair». There is a strong undercurrent of «enough of das saal anyay kaal» (10 years of injustice), the Congress general secretary said. Ramesh also hit out at Modi and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh over their recent remarks about the country being a «new India», which strikes inside enemy territory, saying these are «diversionary tactics» aimed at taking the focus away from the Congress' «real narrative» of «paanch nyay, pachees guarantees» and the manifesto.
