Congress in panic, holding rallies not to win elections but to save corrupt: Narendra Modi at Ajmer rally
Congress on the issue of corruption, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said the opposition party is in panic as he has shut their «shop of loot» and it was holding rallies not to win the elections but to save the corrupt. Addressing an election rally in Ajmer, Modi called the Congress a party of «dynasts and corrupt» that is bereft of both principles and policies. «Wherever there is Congress, there cannot be any development. The Congress never thought about the poor, marginalised and youths… These people considered looting public money as their ancestral right. In the last 10 years, Modi has provided a permanent cure for the disease,» the prime minister said. Modi said that the third term of his government is not far and the government is going to take even bigger decisions against corruption in the first 100 days.

LS polls 'not fair' but despite that, INDIA bloc will get clear majority: Jairam Ramesh
Lok Sabha polls are «not fair» with opposition parties being targeted but despite that, the INDIA bloc will get a clear majority in the elections due to the public response to its "five nyay, 25 guarantees", senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh said on Saturday. He also said the people of the country will «decisively reject» all attempts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make the elections «unfree and unfair». There is a strong undercurrent of «enough of das saal anyay kaal» (10 years of injustice), the Congress general secretary said. Ramesh also hit out at Modi and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh over their recent remarks about the country being a «new India», which strikes inside enemy territory, saying these are «diversionary tactics» aimed at taking the focus away from the Congress' «real narrative» of «paanch nyay, pachees guarantees» and the manifesto.

Ensure Modi steps down and Rahul becomes PM after LS polls: Siddaramaiah
Siddaramaiah on Saturday asked people to ensure that Prime Minister Narendra Modi steps down after the Lok Sabha polls and make Congress leader Rahul Gandhi the PM of the county. Claiming that Congress always walks the talk and fulfills the promises made to the people, unlike the BJP, he said the party will fulfill the guarantees announced in its manifesto after coming to power, like it did in Karnataka under his leadership. «Congress has yesterday announced guarantees, we will fulfill them too. Congress party always walks the talk, unlike the BJP....you should understand that and try to bring Congress to power at the centre by removing the BJP government. I humbly request you to make Narendra Modi step down and make Rahul Gandhi the Prime Minister,» Siddaramaiah said. He was speaking after a road show here in favour of the Congress candidate from Kolar after offering prayers at the Kurudumale Ganapathi Temple. Calling BJP «a factory of lies» and asking people not to fall for lies created by BJP out of fear of defeat, the Chief Minister said that the five guarantee schemes implemented by his government have a five-year warranty. «We honored your vote by keeping our word,» he said.

BJP walks the talk and Prime Minister Narendra Modi's guarantee is to save citizens from hardship, while the «useless» opposition is spreading hatred, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said on Saturday. Addressing a rally for Dr Rajesh Mishra, the BJP candidate from Sidhi Lok Sabha seat, Singh said the Congress-led UPA rule was mired in corruption, leading to some ministers getting jailed at the time. «Prime Minister Narendra Modi speaks the truth. Modi ki guarantee is to save people from trouble and hardship. The BJP does what it says. It walks the talk. Since the time of Bharatiya Jan Sangh we have kept our word,» Singh said at a rally here. «The BJP fulfils each and every promise made in its manifesto. We were mocked for our commitment to the Ram Temple but it was built. We abrogated Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir.

Congress manifesto completely bears imprint of Muslim League ideology: PM Modi
Narendra Modi on Saturday said the grand old party's election manifesto reflects the same thought as that of the Muslim League at the time of the freedom movement. Prime Minister Modi said the Congress, which existed at the time of the freedom movement, has «ended decades ago». «A number of great personalities were associated with the Congress. The name of Mahatma Gandhi was associated with the Congress. The Congress, which is left today, neither has policies in the interest of the nation nor vision for the nation's development,» Prime Minister Modi said.

PM Modi sleeping after taking opium as China entered Indian territory: Mallikarjun Kharge
Mallikarjun Kharge on Thursday launched a blistering attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, calling him a "sardar of liars" and accusing him of «sleeping» after taking opium while China «entered» Indian territory. Addressing an election rally in Rajasthan's Chittorgarh, he said Modi does not think for the country but is busy only abusing the Gandhi family whose members sacrificed their lives for the nation. «Modi says 'I have a 56-inch chest, I will not be scared'. If you are not afraid then why have you left a large part of our land for China. They are coming inside and you are sleeping. Have you taken sleeping pills? Have they taken opium from the fields of Rajasthan… and fed you?» he said in Hindi. «Modi kehate hain 56 inch ki chhati hai, main nahi darunga. Agar nahi darte to fir China ko hamare bahut saa bhag kyo chhode? Wo andar ghus kar aa rahe, aap kya neend kar rahe ho? Kya neend ki goli khaaye ho? Kya Rajasthan ke kheton me se afeem le jaake'… ya wo khilaye hai kya?» Kharge alleged the prime minister is not concerned about the country but he is busy abusing the Gandhi family. «He wants to take the people of the country with him by torturing them. He always keeps lying,» Kharge said. «Modi is 'sardar of liars'.»

Karnataka: Sumalatha Ambareesh to join BJP, refrains from contesting Lok Sabha polls against Kumaraswamy
HD Kumaraswamy, Mandya’s incumbent MP Sumalatha Ambareesh, who won as an independent candidate in the 2019 general elections against his son Nikhil, announced on Wednesday that she would join the BJP and not contest the polls this time. Kumaraswamy is the NDA’s candidate from the constituency for the Lok Sabha polls, and the suspense over Sumalatha’s decision had kept the BJP-JDS coalition on tenterhooks, fearing that votes would be split in the region if she opted to contest independently. “I am not contesting the elections this year but this does not mean I am leaving Mandya. On the contrary you will see me, not as an independent but as someone with the backing of the rank and file of a party whose leader envisages a developed India by 2047,” she said. The BJP, she said, was a natural choice over the Congress, as the party had released funds amounting to around Rs 4000 crore for Mandya district. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he added, had always treated her with respect as well.

Break old election records: PM to UP BJP workers via digital rally
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday told BJP workers of Uttar Pradesh that it was because of their efforts that new electoral records were being made while asking them to work with a resolve to break all old poll records in the general elections. The prime minister was interacting with the Uttar Pradesh BJP workers through a digital rally at 22,648 booths in 10 Lok Sabha seats through the NaMo App. BJP's booth management is widely credited for its decisive victories in UP in all the major elections since 2014. «We know that no matter how big a victory we wish for in elections, if we don't win booths, we can't win elections and thus the soul of an election victory is in the victory of a booth. This is why it is always my appeal that we have to work with only one aim: We will win our polling booth. We will work with the resolve of breaking all old records of winning polling booths,» Modi told the workers.
