Congress leader and MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury from the Parliament's lower house has been revoked, as per a letter issued by the Lok Sabha Secretariat on Wednesday. «The suspension of Shri Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, MP from the service of the House which was effected on 10.08.2023 till the submission of the report by the Committee of Privileges, has been revoked with effect from 30.08.2023,» the statement read. Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury had been suspended as member of Lok Sabha for unruly behaviour during the monsoon session of the parliament. Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi had tabled a motion seeking Chowdhury's suspension citing disruptive behaviour.

AAP MP Sushil Kumar Rinku on Friday came to the Parliament complex in chains to protest against his suspension from Lok Sabha and that of his party colleagues Sanjay Singh and Raghav Chadha from Rajya Sabha. «Democracy in the country is in danger today.
