Rahul Gandhi paid tribute to his late father and former Prime Minister of India Rajiv Gandhi from the banks of Pangong Tso Lake in Ladakh on Sunday. A prayer meeting was scheduled at the banks of Pangong Lake to mark the birth anniversary of former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi today. Rahul Gandhi arrived in Leh to begin his two-day visit to the Union Territory on Thursday and later decided to extend his tour till August 25.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has alleged that the RSS-BJP are placing their own people in key parts of the institutional structure of the country and even ministers have to work with RSS people to make decisions in their respective ministries. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday rode a motorcycle from Leh to Pangong Lake in the Union Territory of Ladakh on the eve of his father Rajiv Gandhi's birth anniversary, a party spokesman said.
