Provident SUN Discover Moonquake can be triggered by Apollo 17 lunar lander base? Here's what scientific findings reveal
Apollo 17 lunar lander base has been found to generate small-scale moonquakes on a daily basis, adding a unique dimension to our understanding of lunar seismic activity. During the Apollo 17 mission, scientists meticulously calibrated three seismometers to capture data related to thermal earthquakes occurring on the moon's surface. These instruments were strategically placed on the lunar landscape, and they diligently recorded seismic data from October 1976 to May 1977, as per reports. New findings were published in the Journal of Geophysical Research — Planets. Traditionally, scientists have recognized four distinct categories of moonquakes: deep, shallow, thermal, and those resulting from meteorite impacts. However, a recent analysis of the thermal earthquake data collected during the Apollo 17 mission has uncovered an unexpected fifth type of moonquake. This newly discovered moonquake originates not from natural lunar processes but rather from the Apollo 17 lunar lander base itself, according to reports. Upon further investigation, researchers were astonished to determine that these mysterious quakes were actually generated by the Apollo 17 lunar lander base. The cause of these quakes is the gradual expansion and vibration of the lander base, which occurs each morning as it is heated by the sun. While these moonquakes may not be of natural lunar origin, they still provide valuable insights into the moon's seismic behavior. This unexpected discovery contributes significantly to our knowledge of the moon's geological activity, which holds particular significance for future lunar exploration and development endeavors.

UPS Target Gap Align country Canada may be considering immigration target revisions as housing crisis persisits
Canada may revise its immigration targets as it continues to struggle with a growing housing crisis. The country aims to welcome 465,000 new permanent residents in 2023, 485,000 in 2024 and 500,000 in 2025. Canada's Housing Minister, Sean Fraser, has highlighted the need for a balanced approach to immigration policy, acknowledging the need to consider changes while maintaining a commitment to high immigration levels. In an interview with CTV, Fraser emphased on aligning immigration policies with the absorptive capacity of communities, including factors like housing, healthcare, and infrastructure, reflects a practical approach to addressing the issues at hand. This approach recognizes that immigration should be managed in a way that doesn't overwhelm existing resources and services. The recognition that temporary immigration programs may require improvement, particularly in their uncapped nature, indicates a willingness to refine immigration mechanisms to better serve both newcomers and the host communities. While Fraser acknowledged immigration's role as a strong competitive advantage in Canada's global economy, he also reiterated that it would not be right to to solely blame immigration for the housing crisis.

Digital CEO Action NIFTY show Economy and corporate earnings doing well; equity markets will continue to do well: AMFI CEO
NS Venkatesh, CEO, AMFI, says “the equity flows are at a five-month high and mainly concentrated in the midcap, small cap and flexi cap funds. It is essentially because the investors find that the correction which happened in the smallcap as well as midcap space gives them an opportunity to participate in their upward story and that is why we are finding people putting money into the smallcaps and midcaps.”Firstly, let us talk about the SIP inflow numbers. It is above the Rs 15,000-crore mark for the second straight month on the trot and is at a record high level as well for the month of August. Do you expect this number to scale past the Rs 15,000 crore mark in September and touch Rs 16,000 crore? The SIP numbers are really good in the sense that we have touched an all-time high of Rs 15,800 crores during this month which is 500 crores above last month. We see the retail investors reposing faith and trust in the mutual fund industry and they are using the SIP as an investment vehicle to participate in the India story and we believe that going ahead we will see the SIP numbers on an increasing trend.

In the context of investing in bonds / debentures, the risk level of getting or not getting your money back in time is perceived through the credit rating. In most cases, yield level in the secondary market varies from one bond to another, in the same rating category. Yield level is the annualised return you will get, provided you hold the bond till maturity.
