Stocks on Wall Street ended mixed on Friday, as investors weighed the latest round of corporate earnings results while continuing to focus on the outlook for the economy and monetary policy.

NEW DELHI : Retail milk prices that have shot up nearly 22% in three years, including about 10% in the last one year, are expected to increase further in the coming three-four months as feed and fodder prices are on the rise amid the monsoon deluge. The prices of de-oiled rice bran (DORB), a key ingredient in cattle, poultry, and fish feed, have increased sharply to ₹18,000-18,500 a tonne from ₹15,000 per tonne in the last few weeks. Maize, a major feed grain and a standard component of livestock diets, is being sold at ₹24,500 a tonne in Tamil Nadu’s Erode, a 20% increase in one month, people in the know in the spot trade said.

Despite the astronomical jackpot, the odds of claiming the grand prize remain incredibly slim, standing at approximately 1 in 302.5 million. Nevertheless, residents in 45 states, the District of Columbia, and the US Virgin Islands have the chance to try their luck again before the next drawing on Tuesday at 11 pm ET.

As reported, the incident happened on a US-based Spirit Airlines flight. According to a report from View From The Wing, a woman claimed she was «forced to urinate» on plane's floor after being denied access to the plane's restroom for several hours by the airline staff. Shockingly, a cabin crew member recorded a video of the incident, further compounding the humiliation.

Maharashtra in the last 10 days, where nearly 4,500 houses were damaged due to heavy rains, officials said on Sunday. The downpour in the last few days also affected nearly 54,000 hectares of agricultural land, of which more than 53,000 hectares land is located in the Amravati division alone, where 2,796 people were shifted to safer places, mostly in Yavatmal district. Members of the Meitei tribe living in Mizoram have reportedly opted to flee the state amid growing unrest in neighbouring Manipur. Following an 'advisory' by an ex-militant’s association in the northeastern state, the state government had held a meeting with leaders from the community on Saturday. The Mizoram government has assured Meiteis of their safety and security in the state.

Come Tuesday, and the Indian Met department expects heavy rainfall to make a comeback in North India, after a lull for a few days following widespread disruption and flooding. “Increase in rainfall activity over northwest India from 25th July is expected," India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Sunday.

Hua Hong Semiconductor said on Sunday it aims to raise up to 21.2 billion yuan ($2.95 billion)in a listing on the Shanghai stock exchange. The country's second-largest chip foundry will sell 407.75 million shares priced at 52 yuan per share, it said in a statement to the exchange.

Chinese nationals have been arrested in Bihar by immigration officials who noted that they had sneaked into the Indian territory, through Nepal, for the second time in less than a month. They were arrested on Saturday night at the Raxaul border outpost falling in East Champaran district, Assistant Foreigner Regional Registration Officer SK Singh said.

The country’s shipments to West Asia and North Africa (WANA), North East Asia, and CIS countries, however, showed positive growth during the same period, the Engineering Exports Promotion Council of India (EEPC) said.

The Union Budget 2023-24 proposed an increase in tax collection at source (TCS) for foreign outward remittances under Liberalised Remittance Scheme (LRS) to 20 per cent, applicable from July 1, 2023, with some exceptions for education and medical purposes. The implementation of the same has been deferred till October 1, 2023. Before this proposal, 5 per cent TCS was applicable on foreign outward remittances above Rs 7 lakh in a financial year. The most affected segments are overseas tour packages and all other purposes excluding education and medical treatment. Banks and financial institutions issued notices to their customer about the changes.
