As reported, the incident happened on a US-based Spirit Airlines flight. According to a report from View From The Wing, a woman claimed she was «forced to urinate» on plane's floor after being denied access to the plane's restroom for several hours by the airline staff. Shockingly, a cabin crew member recorded a video of the incident, further compounding the humiliation.
The video, shared on social media, sparked outrage among viewers, who found the situation «disgusting» and a sign of «civilizational decadence.» The woman can be seen in the clip squatting on the airplane's floor, engaging in a heated argument with the crew members, who allegedly told her to drink water to mask the smell of her urine. The airline has not yet commented on the matter. This is not the first instance of such deplorable behaviour on a flight.
In 2018, a Wizz Air passenger resorted to urinating on the plane's floor after being informed that she couldn't use the lavatory during refuelling. The woman claimed she was left with no option but to use the galley area, typically reserved for food preparation. Unruly behaviour on flights has increased in recent times.
Incidents of passengers deliberately opening emergency exit doors are becoming more frequent. Last year, an Indian airline was under the scanner for abandoning passengers at airports. There were several instances of unruly passengers assaulting crew members as well.
