'Musk’s Starlink satellite internet costs 53% more over 30 years, maintenance twice as expensive'
subsidy program that will benefit satellite internet providers like Elon Musk’s Starlink, but some state and federal officials worry the technology isn’t robust enough to connect Americans on a mass scale and at affordable rates. The Biden administration’s vision for the Broadband Equity and Access Deployment Program (BEAD), designed to deliver fast, reliable home internet service to every US household, leaned heavily on fiber-optic lines, a technology that’s expensive to install but can last for decades. The shift toward satellites is a result of extensive lobbying by Musk and has gained Republican support, including from Senate Commerce Committee Chairman Ted Cruz. State and former federal officials, several of whom spoke to Bloomberg on the condition of anonymity, described pitfalls with Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick’s new approach, which gives more opportunities for satellite terminals that are initially inexpensive, but can cost more over time. One state official shared internal data that showed satellite service costs consumers 53% more over the course of 30 years. Satellite service would also cost more than twice as much to maintain over that time frame, according the data.

Elon Musk exposes ‘Magic Money Machine’: World's richest man claims 14 computers run US Treasury like a rogue ATM
Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has raised concerns about the U.S. government’s financial operations, claiming that several government computers are making payments with little to no oversight. Speaking on a podcast hosted by Senator Ted Cruz, Musk called the situation “insane.” Musk claimed that 14 such computers, mainly located at the Treasury Department, were responsible for issuing payments without clear accountability. “Any computer which can just make money out of thin air, that’s magic money,” he said. According to Musk, the government’s financial systems are not well-tracked, leading to significant inefficiencies and potential misuse of funds.

Is Elon Musk 'right' about 'magic money computers': Myth, misunderstanding, or a hidden truth?
Elon Musk, the ever-controversial billionaire, has once again ignited a debate—this time, about the very foundation of the U.S. financial system. In a recent podcast appearance with Senator Ted Cruz, Musk claimed that the U.S. government has “14 magic money computers” that create money out of thin air. His comments, delivered with characteristic bluntness, suggest a fundamental flaw in government accounting, comparing it to a company so mismanaged it would be “delisted immediately” if it were public. The claim set the internet ablaze, with social media users scrambling to decipher whether Musk was exposing a financial conspiracy or simply misrepresenting how government money works.

Elon Musk slams Democrats for sharing identical videos criticising Trump, calls them ‘lazy’
DOGE administrator Elon Musk recently took to X to ridicule a group of Democratic Senators for featuring in, and sharing, near-identical videos to blame President Donald Trump for a rise in inflation. The posts were shared after Trump’s address to the Congress. The video montages, which open with the same footage of Trump promising to «bring prices down starting on day one», were shared by at least 22 Democratic lawmakers. The clips show the politicians criticising Trump’s policies and claiming that inflation has risen instead of going down in his term.

What are Donald Trump's chances of losing Texas in U.S elections? Here are odds, polls
Former US President Donald Trump is currently having a lead over US Vice President Kamala Harris in Texas by margins which are approximately ranging from 4 to 12 percentage points, revealed several poll surveys which took place recently. According to Newsweek, such a performance of Donald Trump in polls certainly challenges the notion growing among some Democrats that Texas could be a competitive battleground state. According to an Emerson College Poll which was conducted in October showed that Republican Presidential nominee Donald Trump is having a lead of 7 points with 53% points compared to Kamala Harris’s 46% points. Newsweek noted that polling analytics from FiveThirtyEight indicated that Donald Trump has an average lead of near about 6.8 points in Texas while on the other hand, survey by ActiVote showed a far more strong 12 point advantage for Donald Trump. Trump reportedly used a slur against Kamala Harris in private conversations
Trump reportedly has used a slur often targeted at women to describe Vice President Kamala Harris during at least two private conversations. His campaign denies it. The New York Times cited two people who, on different occasions, heard Trump call Harris a «b--.» The people were granted anonymity to describe private discussions. In response, Trump campaign spokesperson Steven Cheung said, «That is not language President Trump has used to describe Kamala and it's not how the campaign would characterize her.» Trump, a Republican, has a history of making derogatory statements about women and his political opponents. He has called Harris, the Democrats' presidential candidate, and other women, including 2016 Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, «nasty,» and he bragged about grabbing women's genitalia in the infamous «Access Hollywood» tape.

‘Banana republic’: a label that every country wants to avoid
When Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer called for new elections aimed at ending the current government in Israel, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu took umbrage. On CNN last Sunday, Netanyahu called Schumer’s comments about elections “totally inappropriate," adding, “That’s something the Israeli public does on its own. We are not a banana republic." Netanyahu found a receptive ear among Senate Republicans, whom he addressed in a virtual closed-door speech on Wednesday.
