BEIJING — Chinese President Xi Jinping told U.S. national security advisor Jake Sullivan during a meeting Thursday that Beijing hopes Washington will find «a right way» to get along.

However, there is no official word on the gist of their discussion from both capitals. This was the first meeting between the two leaders in over six months. In that meeting, Jaishankar had underlined the importance of peace on the LAC as a prerequisite for normalcy in the broader relationship, and called for China to take forward disengagement of troops in the two remaining friction points.
