Citi Action Porsche Justice shock Courts Pune Porsche case: Fadnavis defends police action
Pune police's action in the Porsche hit and run case, deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis told the media Tuesday that a case of culpable homicide not amounting to murder was registered immediately by the city police. He also added that the police did not act in any kind of pressure or that any VIP treatment was doled out to the juvenile accused during his detention. A 17-and-a-half-year-old boy, son of a prominent city developer, mowed down a couple after his speeding Porsche car rammed into their motorcycle in the Yerwada area of Pune in the early hours of Sunday. The incident sparked outrage criticising the Pune police for handling the incident with ‘kid gloves’ after the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) granted bail in a record 15 hours and asked the accused to write a «300-word essay» on the topic of road accidents. The case has also snowballed into a political slugfest, with the Opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) accusing police authorities and an MLA of the ruling Ajit Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) faction of allegedly shielding the accused minor.

markets UPS Target Action wellness Features Headlines Will Mahindra 3XO manage to beat Maruti Brezza and Tata Nexon? Hormazd Sorabjee answers
Hormazd Sorabjee, Editor, Autocar India, says Nexon is the mainstay of the Tata range. It is their number one seller and Tata Motors will do a lot to guard its stuff. So, I am sure we will see a lot of action in terms of, might even be pricing going forward. The Maruti offering s almost like a bare car compared to the 3XO; yet it sells in a lot of numbers and that tells us that things like service and reliability turn out to be a key factor. There is a lot of buzz around the Mahindra launch. There are a lot of headlines talking about how the bookings have been in a matter of 60 minutes, in a matter of a day, etc. But what is the reality? I am sure you have tried and tested this one. Is it really that people would be lining up for this one? Hormazd Sorabjee: They have come out all guns blazing with this 3XO. It was sort of like a do or die for them because this is one segment they have not been competitive in at all and they really want to grab market share. They have genuinely wowed the market with a product that is very high on features, has got a lot of tech on it and at a very good price.

Action President War country peace International Asserting its strategic choice, China backs Russia to the hilt
Russia to halt its military invasion of Ukraine, China is supporting its ally as fully as it can without triggering Western sanctions. The farewell hug between the autocratic leaders of the respective nations — Chairman Xi Jinping and President Vladimir Putin — made a mockery of China's profession of being a neutral party. In his first overseas trip after commencing his fifth term in power, Putin visited China on 16-17 May. The occasion marked the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, and a 7,000-word joint statement enthused that «Russian- Chinese relations stand the test of rapid changes in the world, demonstrating strength and stability, and are experiencing the best period in their history». Beijing previously declared a «no-limits strategic partnership» with Moscow, and the state visit reinforced the closeness between the two regimes. Instead of urging an end to the war, Xi embraced the Russian strongman and issued assurances of undying support. The joint statement noted the nations would «further deepen mutual military trust and cooperation». This includes expansion of military exercises, regular maritime and air patrols, and strengthening bilateral and multilateral coordination.
