Congress MP files complaint against Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma over MCC 'violation'
Congress MP and Lok Sabha poll candidate from Nagaon constituency in Assam, Pradyut Bordoloi, has filed a complaint against Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, alleging that he violated the model code of conduct by offering money to all ration cardholders during the ongoing election campaign. Bordoloi filed the complaint to the chief election commissioner on Tuesday night, alleging that Sarma, in a public meeting in Lakhimpur during the day, made a promise to transfer Rs 10,000 to the bank accounts of every ration cardholder after the election. Stating that such assurances are a «clear violation» of MCC, the Congress leader said, «Such promises are not only unethical but also an attempt to influence voters through financial inducements, thereby compromising the integrity of the electoral process». He urged the ECI to investigate the matter thoroughly and take appropriate action against the chief minister for his «misconduct».

AAP supporters worldwide condemn arrest of Arvind Kejriwal; observe day of fast in solidarity
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) globally have observed a day of protest and fasting in solidarity with party chief and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in an alleged money laundering case. Kejriwal was arrested by the ED on March 21, hours after the high court refused to grant him protection from coercive action by the federal anti-money laundering agency. He is currently lodged in Delhi's Tihar jail. AAP volunteers in the US, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, and Australia gathered in front of Indian embassies and popular locations on Monday to protest Kejriwal's arrest and call for his immediate release, a media release said. «Arvind Kejriwal is a symbol of hope for millions of Indians who are fighting for a more just and equitable society,» said AAP member Jeswanth Reddy from Los Angeles. «His arrest is an attack on democracy and the right to dissent. We will not be silenced.»

China's territorial ambitions: Threat to global peace and stability
China's insatiable territorial ambitions and blatant disregard for the sovereignty of other nations have become a grave threat to global peace and stability. The country's recent audacious move to assign Mandarin names to 30 locations in the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh is a stark reminder of its brazen tactics to lay claim to territories beyond its borders. This cartographic aggression is part of Beijing's long-standing strategy to rewrite history and normalize its illegitimate territorial claims. It is the fourth such list of names released since 2017, following Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Arunachal Pradesh in March – a move that prompted China to lodge a baseless diplomatic protest, asserting that the state belongs to them. China's claims over Arunachal Pradesh stem from its belief that the state is part of «Zangnan» or «Southern Tibet,» a region it considers an integral part of its territory. However, this belief is rooted in a flawed understanding of history and a blatant disregard for India's sovereignty.

Addressing the public meeting on Monday, PM Modi said, «It is the responsibility of political parties to resolve people's issues but the Congress Party is the root of all problems in the country. Since Independence, who has been responsible for the country's partition on the basis of religion? Who was responsible for the problem in Kashmir? So many countries got independent at the same time, and went ahead. Which party was in power for the maximum time?»
