N Biren Singh has faced increasing demands of resignation from opposition parties as the crisis in the state surged.  The CM remains far from claiming responsibility in delaying action against the perpetrators, the mob of Meitei men who paraded two Kuki Zo women naked on 4 May, a day after violent ethnic clashes broke out in Manipur.  While debates have arisen as to why BJP will not or even, possibly, cannot ask Biren Singh to resign, people in Manipur within the state have lost confidence in their democratically elected legislative assembly head.  As pointed out by historian and academic Ramachandra Guha, BJP asking Biren SIngh to resign would mean an admittance that the CM and his government could not handle the Manipur crisis properly. And months ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the saffron party would definitely want to steer clear of any such admittances.  However, according to a report by BBC, faith in the federal and state government seems lacking in both communities.

Asian Paints Ltd report double-digit year-on-year (YoY) growth in profit for the June quarter. On Tatler's insistence, a confused Oppenheimer reads out the verse she points at: «Now, I am become Death, destroyer of the world». According to reports, the CBFC gave the film a U/A rating, making it suitable for viewers above 13 years, after studio Universal Pictures cut some scenes to reduce its length.

BJP MP Smriti Irani told reporters.  Since after the video of two Kuki Zo women being sexually harassed by a mob of Meitei men became viral also revealing that the crime that took place on 4 May, found no punitive action till mid-July, Opposition has accused the ruling dispensation of turning a blind eye.  Meanwhile BJP has counter attacked the opposition by flagging sexual harassment cases in states governed by Congress, Trinamool Congress (TMC).  The opposition mounted a fresh attack on the government after the May 4 incident video surfaced showing two women from one of the warring communities in Manipur being paraded naked and assaulted by a group of men from the other side.  Six people have been arrested so far, including a juvenile, involving the incident.
