Although no casualties were reported, around 9 people were injured. Videos of the blast have gone viral on social media. Following the tragedy, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah claimed that the blast was a planned incident. A CCTV footage showed an unidentified man placing an improvised explosive device at the eatery. The incident was earlier speculated to be an outcome of a cylinder blast. However, in an interaction with the media, Divya Raghavendra Rao, the Founder & Managing Director of the restaurant firmly dismissed the idea. “This is not a cylinder explosion. All our cylinders are safe inside the kitchen and no lapses have been identified. One customer and three of our staff have been injured and we are taking care of their expenses.” She added, “We have given access to all our CCTV cameras to the police. The bomb squad is also in the restaurant to identify the cause. We are cooperating with the law enforcement agencies,” he told the journalists.

The court has adjourned the matter till March 27. The matter was adjourned after the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) sought time to file a short reply on Sameer Wankhede's petition challenging ED's Enforcement Case Information Report (ECIR) against him. ECIR is a formal entry of a complaint lodged by the ED. Wankhede has challenged the ECIR in the Bombay HC and has sought to quash the case against him.

Allahabad High Court on Thursday dismissed a petition filed by veteran film actor and former MP Jaya Prada seeking quashing of non-bailable warrant issued against her by a trial court in Rampur for alleged violation of election code of conduct and making inflammatory statements. On Thursday, during a hearing by a single bench of Justice Sanjay Kumar Singh, Jaya Prada's counsel told the court that they wanted to file a new application with some new facts and documents and sought permission from the court to withdraw the petition.
