Coforge’s Cigniti acquisition a game-changer, will be EPS accretive from day one, says CEO Sudhir Singh
Sudhir Singh, CEO, Coforge, says “the retail vertical of the merged entity is going to be operating almost immediately at about $100 million per annum. The healthcare and the high-tech verticals of the merged entity from day one will be operating at about 50 million US dollars, in some cases more than that as well.” You have announced your largest ever acquisition, which is going to add about 20% to your top line, but the Street is worried that you have bitten more than you can chew with the execution risk. Help us understand the strategic rationale behind this buy. Sudhir Singh: We think this acquisition is fundamentally a game changer for Coforge going forward. This acquisition does three important things for us. Number one, it will allow us to stand up three new industry verticals. The retail vertical of the merged entity is going to be operating almost immediately at about $100 million per annum. The healthcare and the high-tech verticals of the merged entity from day one will be operating at about 50 million US dollars, in some cases more than that as well, so that is number one.

Minute-by-minute updates, buses on standby; schools calm panic-struck parents amid bomb threat
bomb threat to giving minute-by-minute updates to parents about their wards, schools in Delhi-NCR took several measures on Wednesday to ensure that there was no panic-like situation due to a hoax e-mail received by them. Several schools said they were able to carry out a swift evacuation of the students and staff, but dealing with the parents was a challenge. Some schools said they plan to issue a circular for parents, outlining the standard operating procedure to guide them on how to react in adverse situations like these. «We hold frequent evacuation drills to prepare students for situations like an earthquake or other natural calamities. So handling the students was not a problem as our children are trained on how to react during such situations. It was the parents who panicked and were difficult to manage,» Sudha Acharya, principal, ITL Public School, said.

In response to the notice, a spokesperson for Patanjali Foods stated, «The Company has received a Show Cause Notice from the Directorate General of GST Intelligence, Chandigarh Zonal Unit. The Company, its Officers, and authorized signatories were asked to explain why input tax credit amounting to Rs 27,46,14,343 should not be recovered (with interest), and why penalties should not be imposed under Section 74 and other applicable provisions of the CGST Act 2017/Uttarakhand SGST Act, 2017, in conjunction with section 20 of IGST Act 2017.» The company has asserted its intention to vigorously defend its position before the authorities. NPS is a long-term investment with very low costs, low risk profile: Rahul Bhagat, CEO, DSP Pension Fund
It is a long-term investment, has very low costs and comparitively low risk. Investors should look beyond tax and invest more than the deduction limit, Rahul Bhagat, CEO of DSP Pension Fund tells ET Wealth. DSP has returned to the NPS after several years. What made you come back? The pension market has matured and the regulatory framework is more robust now. Instead of applying for a licence every five years, we now have a perpetual licence. The very low charges have also been revised. The charges are still quite low, but enough to make the business viable in the long term. All this gives us confidence to stay in the business for the long term. What makes the NPS a better product than other retirement options?
