Coforge chief executive Sudhi Singh on Friday said it will shell out $220 million, or about Rs 1,826 crore, to acquire 54% stake in Hyderabad-based Cigniti Technologies even as the Noida-based IT firm launched an open offer to acquire an additional 26% stake in Cigniti. Coforge had on Thursday said it is acquiring 54% share in Cigniti from promoters and other shareholders at Rs 1,415 per share.

Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested a deputy general manager posted in the Hariajam Colliery under Eastern Coalfields Limited (ECL) in Dhanbad in connection with an alleged bribery case. It was alleged that Ram Prakash Pandey, DGM of ECL in the Mugma area in Dhanbad demanded a bribe of Rs 75,000 from a 50 per cent handicapped «general mazdoor» to change his duty in the mine. According to the officials, later the labourer approached the CBI with a complaint against Pandey.

Coforge on 2 May approved the acquisition of a 54 per cent stake in IT major Cigniti Technologies at a per share price of ₹1,415, the company said in its regulatory filing. The firm added that the acquisition process is expected to be completed by Q2FY25, subject to regulatory approvals by SEBI.
