Enforcement Directorate (ED) in Gurugram on Friday arrested Ashish Bhalla, promoter of the WTC Group, under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) in connection with a massive real estate fraud. Bhalla is accused of cheating and duping thousands of investors through a well-planned conspiracy. During the investigation, it was found that investors were promised assured returns in exchange for their investments in plots and commercial spaces. However, instead of delivering on these promises, the funds were allegedly diverted to several shell companies. These companies were used to acquire land in multiple locations.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Wednesday assured the home guards that they can approach her directly with their grievances, emphasizing that no mediator is required to communicate with her. Gupta made the remarks while meeting a group of home guards, who claimed that they had not received their salaries for the past five months. The home guards deployed as bus marshals in Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) buses for women's safety also said that some of them had not been paid since Diwali last year. «If somebody wants to talk then come directly to me, no one requires any kind of mediator,» she said.

Aaditya Thackeray on Tuesday demanded the dismissal of the Devendra Fadnavis-led government and imposition of President's rule in Maharashtra in view of the «deteriorating» law and order situation in the state. He was speaking to reporters here in the wake of the resignation of state minister and NCP leader Dhananjay Munde, days after his close aide Walmik Karad was named as the mastermind in the Beed sarpanch murder case. He said only Munde's resignation was not sufficient considering the law and order situation in the state. Deshmukh, the sarpanch of Massajog village in Beed, was abducted, tortured and murdered on December 9 last year allegedly for attempting to stop an extortion bid targeting an energy company in the district. Talking to reporters, Thackeray said, «Resignation (of Munde) is not enough. The government should be dismissed and President's rule should be imposed in the state.» The former minister also cited recent instances of crime against women like the rape of a 26-year old woman in a Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) bus in Pune and the setting ablaze of a 17-year-old girl in Mumbai. «Law and order situation in the state has been deteriorating since the last three years. If the government is not dismissed, who will come to Maharashtra for investment, how will citizens be safe?» he asked.

Uttarakhand Cabinet, under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, has approved the implementation of the Central Government's Unified Pension Scheme for officers and employees in the state. The decision was taken during a cabinet meeting held on Monday, officials said. The Unified Pension Scheme (UPS) has been introduced as an option under the National Pension System (NPS) by the Central Government for the Central Government employees covered under NPS so that they may receive an assured payout after their retirement. The Unified Pension Scheme will be operational from April 1, 2025

His remarks come in response to the Centre’s proposed delimitation exercise, which he believes will reduce the influence of southern states in national politics. Speaking at a wedding ceremony of a party worker’s son, Stalin highlighted the link between population size and parliamentary seats. «Before, we used to say don't give birth to a child immediately, no need to rush. He also stated that if ASHA (Accredited Social Health Activist) workers feel insecure, he would take up the matter with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Union Health Minister. Gopi pointed out that since ASHA is a centrally sponsored scheme, it was designed with specific criteria, which the Prime Minister could be requested to review.
