Fali S Nariman passed away on Wednesday, at the age of 95. Nariman was a senior advocate of the Supreme Court and an eminent jurist. Awarded both the Padma Bhushan, in January 1991, and the Padma Vibhushan, in 2007, the veteran was a practicing lawyer for over seven decades. Nariman enrolled as an advocate of the Bombay High Court in November 1950, and was designated a senior advocate in 1961. In 1972, he was appointed Additional Solicitor General of India. In June 1975, he resigned from his post to protest against the decision of the Indira Gandhi government to declare emergency. For a decade, from 1991 to 2010, Nariman was the president of the Bar Association of India. In addition, he held various positions of note, including the vice-chairmanship of the International Court of Arbitration of the ICC (International Chamber of Commerce) Paris, from 1989 to 2005, and the presidency of the International Council for Commercial Arbitration.

VirnetX's bid to revive a $502.8 million jury verdict it won against Apple in a dispute over internet-security patents. The justices turned away Zephyr Cove, Nevada-based VirnetX's appeal of a lower court's decision to overturn the verdict against Cupertino, California-based Apple that had been reached by a jury in Tyler, Texas. VirnetX had challenged the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office's decisions to invalidate its patents.

France's highest civilian honour «Chevalier de la Legion d'honneur» at a ceremony on Tuesday. Author of several books and the Congress MP from Thiruvananthapuram, Tharoor was conferred the prestigious award at the French Embassy by French Senate President Gerard Larcher. The French government had announced the award for Tharoor, a former Union minister, in August 2022 but was conferred on him on Tuesday. «The highest French civilian award came in recognition of Dr Tharoor's tireless efforts to deepen Indo-French ties, commitment to international peace and cooperation, and as a long-standing friend of France,» a statement issued by the French Embassy said. Conferring the honour on Tharoor, Chairman of the French Senate Larcher said, «Through his outstanding career as a diplomat, author and politician, Shashi Tharoor has embraced the world with a thirst for knowledge and an intelligence that has led him to live several lifetimes in one, and all of them in service to India and a better world.»

Michael Keaton did not want to film a sequel to a classic and so he was reluctant to get involved in the making of 'Beetlejuice Beetlejuice'. It is a sequel to the 1988 horror comedy that starred Keaton in the titled role. He also said that director Tim Burton was equally cautious, but once they began the filming, they found it interesting and completed the project.

Fifteen years after the popular Nickelodeon animated series «Avatar: The Last Airbender» went off the air, the story has gotten the live-action treatment by Netflix. This new «Last Airbender» stars Gordon Cormier as Aang, a 12-year-old boy with the fate of the world on his shoulders. The series premieres on Thursday.

Bengaluru has more reasons to cheer for. The Silicon Valley of India is set to get more public charging stations soon. As per reports, Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (BESCOM) has awarded a tender to Reliance BP Mobility Limited for settin up of 225 public charging stations across Bengaluru. As per the tender, 150 charging spots will be in Bengaluru city while 75 in Bengaluru rural. “We had awarded the tender for setting up the charging infrastructure to Reliance BP Mobility Limited in October. They have agreed to set up 150 charging stations in Bengaluru city and 75 in Bengaluru rural. Currently, a survey is ongoing to identify the land for setting up the infrastructure. Once the survey is completed, they will sign a 10-year lease contract with the land owing agency. Reliance will call the bid for INR 2.19 per unit,” a senior BESCOM official was quoted as saying by the Times of India.

₹732, just 9 percent higher from its IPO price of ₹672. Waaree Renewable Technologies, the solar EPC arm of Waaree Group, saw its shares surge by 5% to ₹4,650 each in today's intraday trading. This increase followed the company securing a significant Letter of Award (LOA) for executing engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) duties for a solar power plant of 980 MWp. The contract, valued at ₹990.60 crore, was granted by one of India’s leading renewable energy firms.
