Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has been awarded the highest number of police gallantry medals — 52 — on the occasion of the 78th Independence Day. The Union Home Ministry declared the names of the awardees on Wednesday. Out of the total medals, 25 decorations have been awarded for action during operations in Jammu and Kashmir while 27 are for operations in the anti-Maoist operations in various Left Wing Extremism affected states, a senior CRPF officer said. Among the awardees is Sub-Inspector Raushan Kumar who has been honoured with the bravery medal posthumously for his gallant action against Maoists in Bihar in February 2019.

Gensol Engineering and Matrix Gas & Renewables has bagged a 237 MW electrolyser manufacturing plant project, a statement said on Wednesday. The project was secured through a competitive bidding process invited by Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), Gensol Engineering said, adding that the project will be set up as part of the government's production linked incentive (PLI). «Gensol Engineering in collaboration with Matrix Gas & Renewables announced that it has emerged as a winning bidder for 237 MW annual capacity under the PLI scheme for setting up electrolyser manufacturing plant,» it said. With the latest win, the Gensol-Matrix consortium has secured a cumulative 300 MW capacity, including a 63 MW project awarded earlier in an SECI tender.

India's former external affairs minister K Natwar Singh passed away late Saturday in Gurugram at the age of 93 after a prolonged illness. Singh, Congress veteran, was born in Bharatpur, Rajasthan in 1931. He was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 1984. Singh, who was the foreign minister in UPA-I and also served as India's Ambassador to Pakistan besides holding other senior diplomatic positions.
