US tweaks immigration rules to attract more foreign startup founders
United States has tweaked the International Entrepreneur Rule in a bid to attract more foreign entrepreneurs. Under the updated guidelines, foreign entrepreneurs can now potentially stay in the US for up to five years, contingent upon their venture's public benefit. Initially granted for two-and-a-half years, extensions may be granted based on criteria like funding milestones and job creation. The International Entrepreneur Rule (IER), administered by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), lets noncitizen entrepreneurs apply for authorized stay in the United States, known as «parole,» based on demonstrating significant public benefit through their business ventures. This allows them to work exclusively for their startup. Eligibility extends to the entrepreneur's spouse, but not their children, who may also be paroled.

Tesla shareholders will appear in court on Monday to argue that an unprecedented request for more than $7 billion in attorneys' fees to be paid by the company is «outlandish,» the latest twist in a legal showdown over Musk's $56 billion pay package. The record fee request was made by investor Richard Tornetta on behalf of three law firms that represented him, including Bernstein Litowitz Berger & Grossmann. Tornetta owned nine shares of Tesla when he sued over Musk's pay package of stock options in 2018, a legal battle he ultimately won in January when the package was voided.

Hollywood comeback won't end Will Smith's 10-year Oscar ban after Chris Rock incident
Bad Boys 4" won't relieve Will Smith of his ten-year Oscar ban. This was mandated by the Academy Awards committee following Smith's widely publicized smack of Chris Rock at a live event. Three-time Oscar winner Paul N. J. Ottosson, who collaborated closely with Smith, favors the ban. While emphasizing forgiveness, Ottosson is adamant about carrying out the sentence, as per the reports of 'The US Mirror'. Ottosson thinks Smith could return in 2032 if he shows genuine remorse and continues to act honorably. Although he acknowledges Smith's professional accomplishments, he emphasizes the Academy's authority to impose sanctions for inappropriate conduct.
