A judge is weighing whether to revoke Sam Bankman-Fried’s bail

A federal judge overseeing the criminal case against Sam Bankman-Fried, also known as "SBF," will reportedly consider revoking the former FTX CEO’s $250 million bail based on allegations of intimidation against Caroline Ellison. 

Avinash Bhosle in a money laundering case, citing that prima facie it is clear that he had fraudulently obtained more than Rs 71 crore from DHFL «without any genuine business transaction». Denying bail on medical grounds, the court said Bhosle has been receiving quite good treatment in the hospital as per his wish and according to doctors, he is not suffering from any life threatening disease.

Sameer Mahendru in a money laundering case related to alleged irregularities in the now-scrapped Delhi excise policy on medical grounds. While directing Mahendru to surrender before the trial court by 5 PM on September 4, Justice Dinesh Kumar Sharma made it clear that no further extension of interim bail shall be granted to him on the grounds cited in the instant application. The high court observed that interim bail can never be allowed to be made an «evergreen process».

Delhi grants regular bail to former Wrestling Federation of India's President Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh and the Federation's assistant secretary Vinod Tomar Singh in the sexual harassment case registered on the basis of complaints of several wrestlers. The Court imposed several conditions while granting bail to them and said the accused should not induce the complainants or witnesses directly or indirectly. The court further said that the accused shall not leave the country without the permission of the court. Court noted that the Delhi Police lawyer said that he is neither opposing nor supporting the bail application. The hearing began at 12:30 and after hearing all the arguments, the court decided to give its verdict at 4 pm.

Delhi court on Wednesday reserved for July 27 its order on an application of former AAP communications in-charge Vijay Nair seeking default bail in a money laundering case related to alleged Delhi excise policy scam. Special Judge M K Nagpal reserved the order after hearing arguments from the counsel appearing for the accused as well as the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on the application.

Supreme Court has granted regular bail to activist Teesta Setalvad in a case of alleged fabrication of evidence in relation to the 2002 Gujarat riots. The top court added that charge sheet has been filed in case against Teesta Setalvad, therefore no custodial interrogation is necessary.

Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) MP and former Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh was granted interim bail by Delhi's Rouse Avenue court in the case of alleged sexual harassment of six female wrestlers. His secretary Vinod Tomar was also granted bail by the Delhi court.  The court has informed that hearing on regular bail of the former WFI chief Brij Bhushan and Vinod Tomar will be held on 20 July.

Nationalist Congress Party leader Nawab Malik is getting «specialized medical assistance» and his right to health or right to life is not infringed in any manner, said the Bombay High Court while refusing him medical bail in a money laundering case being probed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). The HC further said Malik's medical report does not indicate he is suffering from any critical ailment. On the contrary, the report says the former state minister does not need further hospitalization, the HC observed.

A U.S. District Judge has set the bail for the former CEO of Celsius Alex Mashinsky at $40 million. 

Supreme Court on Friday sought responses of the CBI and the ED by July 28 on interim bail pleas of AAP leader Manish Sisodia in the Delhi excise policy case. A bench of Justices Sanjiv Khanna, Bela M Trivedi and Ujjal Bhuyan took into consideration the submission of senior advocate Abhishek Singhvi, appearing for Sisodia, that his wife is suffering from an extreme medical condition and is hospitalised. The bench said it will consider the interim bail application and for that it is seeking response of the CBI and the ED.

Dheeraj Wadhawan, promoter of now non-existent Dewan Housing Finance Ltd (DHFL), who has been arrested in a case pertaining to alleged fraud at Yes Bank. Special CBI court Judge M G Deshpande rejected Dheeraj Wadhawan's medical bail plea, but allowed him to undergo treatment at a private hospital for a heart-related ailment.

Nawab Malik in connection with a money laundering case being probed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). Malik was arrested in February 2022 by the ED in the case allegedly linked to activities of fugitive gangster Dawood Ibrahim and his associates. The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) is in judicial custody and currently undergoing treatment in a private hospital here.

Leena Maria Paulose, wife of conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar in a Rs 200 crore extortion case registered by the Economic Offence Wing (EOW) of Delhi Police. The Court also dismissed the bail petitions of two accused Kamlesh Kothari and B Mohan Raj in the same case. Sukesh Chandrasekhar, Leena Maria Paulose and others are presently in judicial custody since last year in the case for allegedly duping Aditi Singh, wife of the former promoter of Ranbaxy, Shivinder Singh, of Rs 200 crore.

Justice Dinesh Kumar Sharma on Tuesday dismissed all three bail petitions filed in the matter.

Gautam Budh Nagar police arrested Haider on 4 July for illegally entering India without a visa via Nepal with her four children -- all aged below seven years. Besides, her Indian husband Sachin and father-in-law were arrested for sheltering the illegal immigrant. However, on Saturday, the Uttar Pradesh court granted bail to the couple who were behind bars for five days at Luksar jail.

CBI’s appeal against the Bombay High Court order granting interim bail to Videocon Group chairman Venugopal Dhoot. As per the CBI, ICICI Bank had sanctioned credit facilities to the tune of Rs 3,250 crore to the companies of Videocon Group promoted by Dhoot in violation of the Banking Regulation Act, RBI guidelines, and credit policy of the bank.

Delhi High Court on Monday dismissed the bail plea of AAP leader Manish Sisodia, who was arrested for his alleged role in the money laundering case relating to alleged irregularities in the city government's excise policy. Justice Dinesh Kumar Sharma refused to grant relief to Sisodia, saying he is not entitled to bail at this stage.
