Daylight Saving Time returns: Will the US ever end the clock-change debate?
daylight saving time (DST) begins. At 2 a.m. local time on Sunday, March 9, clocks will move forward by an hour, bringing longer daylight hours in the evening but also disrupting sleep schedules. The shift will remain in place until Sunday, November 2, when clocks return to standard time for the winter months. While most states observe DST, some do not. Hawaii and most of Arizona opt out, citing climate and practical concerns. The Navajo Nation, however, does follow the change. U.S. territories, including Puerto Rico and Guam, also skip the adjustment.

Centre wants to set 'Hindu-Muslim' narrative via Waqf amendments: Sena (UBT) MP
Waqf Act are not good and it wants to set a "Hindu-Muslim narrative" in the country through it, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Arvind Sawant has claimed. In an interview to PTI, Sawant, who was a member of the Joint Committee on the Waqf Amendment Bill, also accused the parliamentary panel chief, BJP MP Jagdambika Pal, of adopting «deceptive practices» and not holding a clause-by-clause discussion on the proposed law as mentioned in its agenda. He also dubbed the functioning of the panel dictatorial. The bill aims to streamline the registration of Waqf properties, besides preventing their misuse. The bill is likely to come up before Parliament during the second part of the session — scheduled to be held from March 10 to April 4.

Bill Maher roasts Taylor Swift’s love life, but is the joke getting old?
Real Time With Bill Maher, the 69-year-old comedian quipped about the pop sensation’s unexpected streak of relationship stability, saying, “This world is so upside down now. It took [President] Trump three weeks to break up with Ukraine, Mexico, and Canada. And yet, Taylor Swift has the same boyfriend for over a year.” The joke, a clear dig at Swift’s relationship with NFL star Travis Kelce, is just the latest in a long line of public figures making her love life the punchline. But at this point, are these cracks about her dating history just lazy, outdated, and—dare we say—boring?

Trump seeks to bar student loan relief to workers aiding migrants and transgender kids
Trump signed an executive order instructing administration officials to alter a student loan forgiveness program for public servants to exclude nonprofit organizations that engage in activities that have what he called a «substantial illegal purpose.» His order to restrict the program appears to target groups supporting immigrants in the country illegally, diversity initiatives or gender-affirming care for children, among others, as the Trump administration has sought to eliminate federal support for efforts that have drawn right-wing ire. The order, made public Friday, is the latest of many attempts to overhaul the loan forgiveness program, which has often whipsawed borrowers with rule changes and bureaucratic obstacles.

Trump urges Congress to pass bill 'banning and criminalising sex changes on children'
In his address to the joint session of Congress on Tuesday (local time), Trump said, «I want Congress to pass a bill permanently banning and criminalizing sex changes on children and forever ending the lie that any child is trapped in the wrong body. This is a big lie and our message to every child in America is that you are perfect exactly the way God made you. Because we are getting wokeness out of our schools and out of our military and it's already out and it's out of our society. We don't want it. Wokeness is trouble. Wokeness is bad. Its gone and we feel so much better for it, don't we. Don't we feel better? Our service members won't be activists and ideologues. They will be fighters and warriors. They will fight for our country.» The US President also urged Congress to fund a state-of-the-art golden dome missile defence shield. He called it important to have golden dome missile defence shield and mentioned that Israel and other nations have it.
