Then there’s the key task of identifying a successor. The CEO has acknowledged that the task of turning around the Disney business has proven more challenging than he anticipated. Over the past year, Disney's stock price has fallen by 30%. On August 25, the stock closed at $83.27, mirroring levels last seen in May 2014. In the June quarter, revenue climbed 4% to $22.33 billion, yet missed forecasts. A $2.7-billion restructuring expense led to a $460-million loss, compared with last year's $1.4 billion profit. Iger's urgent focus is to halt the decline of the TV market, curb streaming losses, and arrest the stock price slide.

Bank of Baroda (BoB) on Monday said Sunny Deol has approached the bank to settle dues, a day after the state-owned lender advertised a proposal to sell his Juhu property, to recover ₹56 crore. The bank had set 25 September as the e-auction date, bids for which, it said in a notice on Sunday, were to be submitted by 5 pm on 22 September. As per the notice, the bank had fixed the reserve price for the auction at ₹51.43 crore and an earnest money deposit of ₹5.14 crore.

Congress on Monday raised questions about the Bank of Baroda reportedly withdrawing the e-auction notice for the Juhu bungalow of BJP MP Sunny Deol, asking who triggered the «technical reasons» for the withdrawal. In a post on X, Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh said, «Yesterday afternoon the nation got to know that Bank of Baroda had put up the Juhu residence of BJP MP Sunny Deol for e-auction since he has not paid up Rs 56 crore owed to the Bank.

Disney ’s era of budget-priced streaming video packages and galloping subscriber growth has come to an end. For the second time in about a year, Disney unveiled a round of major price increases to its streaming products, raising the cost of the ad-free versions of Disney+ and Hulu by more than 20% each. The company also vowed to crack down on password-sharing , an effort that streaming rival Netflix started in earnest earlier this year.

During this period he has opted to draw nil salary. Ambani, 66, will cross the company law-mandated 70 years of age for the chief executive of the company and requires a special resolution by the shareholders for him to be appointed beyond that age bar, according to a PTI report.

Bank of Baroda (BoB) posted an increase in net profit riding on strong growth in retail loans and fee income even as new CEO Debadatta Chand set his sights on getting a larger share of corporate wallets this fiscal. Net profit increased to Rs 4,070 crore in the quarter ended June 2023 from Rs 2,168 crore a year ago, largely due to a 24% increase in net interest income (NII) supported by a brisk growth in retail loans, which grew by 25%. Fee income increased 18% year-on-year to Rs 1,507 crore in the quarter.

The board said in a statement that it aimed to maintain «continuity of leadership during the company's ongoing transformation.» Iger returned to Disney as CEO in November 2022, less than a year after he retired, vowing to stay for two more years to restore the business while seeking a more durable replacement after the company pushed out Bob Chapek, Iger's hand-picked successor. «There is more to accomplish before this transformative work is complete,» Iger said in a statement, adding that the board was continuing to interview internal and external CEO candidates.
