Protean eGov Technologies IPO, formerly known as NSDL E-Governance Infrastructure has set the price band for its issue at ₹752-792 per share to raise ₹490.3 crore. The company is set to launch its three-day initial public offer on November 6 and close on November 8. Meanwhile, the anchor investors bidding for the IPO will start on 3 November.

Larsen and Toubro (L&T) is foraying into fabless semiconductor chip design by setting up a subsidiary, the engineering major said on Tuesday. The company has approved an investment of Rs 830 crore to set up a wholly-owned subsidiary that will be engaged in the business of fabless semiconductor chip design and product ownership and not manufacturing, said L&T chief financial officer, R Shankar Raman. «At the moment we are looking at fabless semiconductor chip design business as a less investment, high technology business. We will have an R&D center for fabless semiconductor chips that may be in the US,» said Shankar Raman post the company's earnings call on Tuesday.

Cliff Richard, the acclaimed British musician, in his latest book, a memoir titled “A Head Full of Music,” recalled the time when he first heard the music of late American music legend Elvis Presley and how it inspired him. In a reported excerpt from the book, Richard, in May 1965, along with his two friends named Norman Mitham and Terry Smart first heard the lyrics of Presley’s famous song “Heartbreak Hotel” from the car radio of a parked automobile in Hertfordshire, England. They didn’t know which song it was and neither they were aware of Presley at the time. As per the memoir, Richard described that moment by saying that they had never heard anything like that before, and that he talked about that song with Mitham and Smart throughout the afternoon. Richard wrote in his memoir that Mitham heard the song again at school and he informed Richard that the name of the song was “Heartbreak Hotel” and the artist was Presely. Richard added in his memoir that Presley sounded like he was signing for him, to Richard himself. He termed Presley as “different” and that he sounded “cool,” “young,” and “passionate.”

Transport Corporation of India reported a 20% rise in its consolidated net profit to ₹87.8 crore in the September quarter of FY24. The company earned a profit of ₹73 crore in the September quarter of the previous financial year. Its consolidated revenue jumped by 7 percent at ₹1,005 crore, the company said in an exchange filing.

Retail inflation for industrial workers eased to 4.72 per cent in September, compared to 6.91 per cent in August this year, mainly due to lower prices of certain food items and cooking gas. «Year-on-year inflation for the month stood at 4.72 per cent compared to 6.91 per cent for the previous month (August 2023) and 6.49 per cent during the corresponding month (September 2022) a year before,» a labour ministry statement said. Similarly, it stated that the food inflation also reduced to 6.52 per cent against 10.06 per cent of the previous month and 7.76 per cent during the corresponding month a year ago.

Decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol Platypus has made significant strides in recovering assets stolen in a recent exploit. On 17 October 2023, the protocol announced via its Twitter handle, Platypusdefi, that it had successfully negotiated with the exploiter and recovered 90% of the funds siphoned off from the sAVAX pool during an exploit on 12 October 2023. The recovery reduced the net loss to approximately 18,000 AVAX. The announcement came as a relief to the Platypus community, who had been on tenterhooks since the exploit occurred.

ESAF refiled its draft IPO papers in July this year and received approval for the same from Sebi earlier this month.
