Private equity (PE) firms are most likely to be interested in the asset, given that VIP Industries is much larger than its Indian rivals, except Safari Industries, the first person cited above said. Rising incomes, an expanding travel infrastructure, and online bookings have fuelled a surge in travel among Indians, resulting in heightened demand for luggage.

Airbnb CEO Brian Chesky plans to fix ‘fundamentally broken’ company. Here's how
Airbnb to a feature that customers have long requested with a loyalty program. And in September, New York City vastly tightened its rules on short-term rentals, nearly squeezing Airbnb out of a market that in the early days represented roughly 80% of its business. Never mind the increasing strictness of return-to-office policies, which has hampered the flexibility that spurred Airbnb’s business in the pandemic years.

There's no fear that we are slipping into a bearish stock market: Sunil Subramaniam
Sunil Subramaniam, MD & CEO, Sundaram Mutual, says from an economic news perspective, I do not see any surprises. We are in a festival season and this time we have a slightly elongated festival season with Diwali coming in around mid-November. That is good news from the consumer section, consumer durables and auto and housing sectors and that is good news for the markets. At the same time, the state assembly elections in key Hindi belt states will provide a little bit of a clue in terms of the next coming parliamentary election. While they will not have a significant impact because voters behave differently in parliament, the markets will be a bit sensitive if those elections do not go the way of the ruling party at the Centre. What is your view on the market? Right now we were cruising around that 20,000 mark headed for higher levels and then suddenly back to 19,500? Yes, it is just a reflection of stuff happening outside India in terms of oil prices strengthening as well as the US Fed being hawkish in terms of the interest rate outlook and their actions. These two tended to be a bit negative for emerging market flows and India especially is very sensitive to oil. We import 85% of our crude and hence any movement trend around oil makes a big impact.

Indian auto industry breaks records: 363,733 cars and SUVs sold in September
In percentage terms, sales rose by a modest 2% during the month, hemmed in by a high year-earlier base which saw robust post-pandemic pent-up demand. Companies mostly report wholesale dispatches from plants to dealerships and not retail sales to customers. While demand for sport-utility vehicles remained robust amid a spate of new launches, there continued to be some pressure on sales on entry-level cars. Senior industry executives, however, are optimistic that the demand momentum will sustain and lift sales across segments this festive season. Shashank Srivastava, senior executive officer (marketing and sales) at market leader Maruti Suzuki said monthly sales of passenger vehicles reported the best-ever performance for the ninth straight month in September. Half yearly sales too crossed the two-million mark for the first time as consumer demand remained buoyant.
