Booking Man Apple Patrick film show Inside controversy Christopher lands in controversy, did Robert Oppenheimer really try to kill Cambridge University tutor?
Oppenheimer’ has landed in yet another controversy. Did the scientist really want to poison the tutor he dislike, change his mind later and somehow save the man from dying? As the director and producer claim that the movie is based on the actual life and biography of the father of the atomic bomb, this question becomes important and demands an explanation. The film traces the life of Robert J Oppenheimer from his early days to becoming the father of the first atomic bomb and the time when he was accused of being anti-national and communist. The biopic ‘Oppenheimer’ shows a sequence in which Robert Oppenheimer injects poison into the apple of Patrick Blackett, a Cambridge University tutor, he hates. Later he changes his decision and prevents the tutor to eat the poisoned apple. But it is not clear if the theoretical physicist really wanted to kill the Cambridge University tutor. Christopher Nolan was inspired by ‘American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J Robert Oppenheimer’, written by Kai Bird and Martin J Sherwin and this incident was described in the book. But talking to the 'Time’ magazine, the physicist’s grandson Charles Oppenheimer called it a ‘historical revision’. But ‘American Prometheus’ claims that Oppenheimer himself described this incident, but it is not clear if the incident has been exaggerated. Another point of contention in this controversy is the nature o the poison. The book suggests that a non-lethal poison might have been injected and not cyanide. Another book, ‘A Life Inside the Center’ written by Ray Monk also describes this incident. It also says that Oppenheimer’s intention might have been to make the tutor seriously sick.

Booking VISA show country Tourists are back with a bang, but a long visa wait is keeping them away from the United States
Spain recovered 86% of its pre-pandemic tourist arrivals in 2022, and arrivals this year already show a 28% increase over 2019 levels. France follows closely with year-to-date international visitors numbering just 3% less than before the Covid-19 pandemic and their spending at record levels, according to Atout France, a government tourism agency. The US, on the other hand, is falling behind. International tourist arrivals remain at 26% below pre-pandemic levels, according to a June 2023 monthly report from the US Travel Association, with spending slower, too. At the close of 2022, international visitor spending in the US was at $99 billion, just over 50% of where it stood in 2019. That’s a far cry from 2019, when the US received 79.4 million visitors, who spent $181 billion. “The lag is very significant, and we are very concerned,” says Geoff Freeman, US Travel’s chief executive officer. “We estimate that this year alone we’re going to lose about 2.6 million international visitors and $7 billion less in spending.” The US travel industry isn’t expected to recover to 2019 levels until 2025. Those two additional years will translate into “billions of dollars of lost spending, of lost jobs,” says Freeman.

COST Provident Booking ICE country social Joe Oliver: We are in the grip of climate-change catastrophism
The climate-change movement is a powerful cultural entity. It does not affirm or negate the reality of its core narrative, which is for science to decide. Culture does, however, explain the power and prevalence of the narrative, the political and societal responses to it and the apparent willingness of many people to incur immense cost to avert a supposed existential threat, without proof of either its existence or our ability to alter its impact. In a new book available from the Global Warming Policy Foundation, The Grip of Culture: the Social Psychology of Climate Change Catastrophism, Andy A. West, who works for the Philosophy Foundation in London, provides an academic analysis of the phenomenon. Its lessons have particular relevance to Canada’s climate obsession.
