What's next for Rahul Dravid? He jokes about playing himself in a biopic
Rahul Dravid appeared relaxed and engaging during his on-stage interaction at the CEAT awards ceremony. Reflecting on his cricketing journey and taking questions from the audience, Dravid entertained guests with his witty remarks and asked for career advice via email. «The beauty of functions like this and the beauty of awards like this is that when they put up these videos, they show just the lovely things that you have done on the cricket field,» said Dravid, emphasizing the thrill and challenges of the game. «The honest fact, and that is the truth, is that you are failing a lot more than you are succeeding in this game. But that's what makes it so much more fun, so much more enjoyable.»

Why people are quitting hustle culture
The AntiHustle (2017), author Nicole Purvy wrote, “The hustle culture is focused on the amount of work and sacrifices you’re making to be successful. We need to change the mindset and find new ways of working things, because what you do will never be enough." Keeping this in mind, some companies are gradually beginning to take notice and value individual preferences and diverse work styles, says Prof. Mohapatra.

They’re breaking every retirement rule to be off now, not later
When Dana Saperstein quit her marketing job to spend six months hiking the Pacific Crest Trail, the then-31-year-old thought of it as a microretirement. “If I keep working myself to the bone until 60 years old, I might physically never be able" to hike the 2,650-mile Mexico-to-Canada trail, she said. Saperstein is among a small number of workers in their 20s and 30s borrowing years of freedom from their future selves to enjoy some of their retirement while they are still young.

Hollywood lobs bombshell in US presidential race with Donald Trump biopic
Hollywood might sway American voters. Right before former US President Donald Trump takes on Vice-President Kamala Harris in presidential election, a small indie studio, Briarcliff Entertainment, plans to release "The Apprentice" in theatres for US audiences, as per the Hollywood Reporter. The biopic «The Apprentice», which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in May this year, stirred big controversy by depicting Trump as a rapist. The film is based on allegations made by Trump's first wife, Ivana Trump, during their divorce proceedings, which she later retracted. Directed by Iranian-Danish filmmaker Ali Abbasi, «The Apprentice» dramatizes a 1989 incident Ivana described in her divorce deposition. The film is set to be released in US theaters on October 11, as per the Los Angeles Times. The film stars Sebastian Stan as Donald Trump and Maria Bakalova as Ivana Trump, with Jeremy Strong playing Trump's lawyer, Roy Cohn. The biopic presents a dark portrayal of Trump, focusing on his early career.

Harris Walz targets Trump's voter base; will they be able to get the votes?
Tim Walz will be seen more often in orange. The Democratic vice presidential nominee, Walz, is going pheasant hunting wearing a bright vest. Democrats claim that for years, they virtually gave former President Donald Trump all of the rural counties and even some of the suburbs. Since 2016, rural counties in states like Wisconsin and Nevada have become deeply red areas associated with President Trump, making them nearly impossible for the left to penetrate. Promoting Walz's Midwest origins, military service, labor connections, hunting experience, and football coaching career, Harris campaign officials feel they have an edge over white moderate and blue-collar voters, to whom Harris may have a softer appeal. Using her experience as a prosecutor and the narrative that she created about being the immigrant daughter who worked at McDonald's before moving up the ranks to become vice president, Harris has also made a signal to those voters.

Amid cautious hiring, internship becomes mandatory and extended
companies are increasingly insisting that freshers undergo mandatory internships with them for an extended period before they make the final offers, delaying the hiring process that has just started seeing some activity after a washout year. Placement officers in several tier-1 and -2 engineering colleges that ET spoke to said internships, which used to be six months, have now been extended by another four-six months. “Employers are increasingly seeking fresh graduates with internship experience in AI/ML, data roles, model development and analytics,” said Munira Loliwala, vice president, strategy and growth, at staffing services firm TeamLease Digital. “The shortage of skilled entry-level talent has led companies to offer extended internships, enhancing the likelihood of hiring through management trainee programs later.”
