Glenn Maxwell has decided to postpone a potential surgery to remove pins from his previously shattered ankle. This decision is driven by his determination to chase his dual World Cup dreams, despite facing stiff competition for a spot in the national squad. Maxwell's ankle troubles began in November of the previous year when he suffered a severe fracture during a lighthearted incident at a friend's 50th birthday celebration, just on the eve of the Twenty20 World Cup final in Melbourne. Following the fracture, surgical intervention was necessary, and pins were inserted to expedite the healing process. Now that his leg has fully healed, Maxwell has the option to undergo surgery to remove the pins. However, this procedure and the subsequent recovery period would require approximately six weeks of his time. Given the upcoming cricket season, which features both an ODI World Cup in India and a T20 World Cup in the Caribbean and the United States, the 34-year-old Maxwell cannot afford to be sidelined for such an extended period.

Marcia de Rousse, known for her roles in HBO's True Blood and the film The Disappointments Room alongside Kate Beckinsale, has passed away at the age of 70. Her representatives from the Beverly Hecht Agency confirmed her demise on September 2, following an extended illness. De Rousse's career began with a role in the 1981 comedy film Under the Rainbow, starring Chevy Chase and Carrie Fisher. During the same decade, she also appeared in episodes of television series, The Fall Guy and St. Elsewhere. In the 2000s, she took on a few roles before landing her part in True Blood as Dr. Patricia Ludwig.
