Film City project is expected to start within six months and it will create 50,000 jobs while benefitting up to seven lakh people indirectly, the Uttar Pradesh government said on Friday. Bayview Projects, a consortium backed by filmmaker Boney Kapoor and real estate developer Ashish Bhutani, on Thursday signed an agreement to develop the film city with the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA), an undertaking of the UP government. "...the construction of the Film City will provide employment opportunities to 50,000 people from the state and neighbouring states, while indirectly benefiting five to seven lakh people with job opportunities," the state government said in a statement issued in Lucknow. It said the construction on the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's dream project will commence within six months, and within three years film shooting and related activities will begin here.

Veteran officers and sailors of the UH3H squadron graced the event with families reminiscing the yeoman service of the helicopter. The UH-3H helicopter will be replaced by Sea King 42C helicopter at INAS 350 to continue and deliver operational power and capability, a spokesperson of the Navy said in a statement.

On the first day of heavy rain this season, the capital received one-third of its total monsoon rainfall on Friday.

Lebanon, the Ministry of External Affairs on Friday said the Embassy of India in Beirut is in «constant touch» with the Indian nationals there and added an advisory has been issued for them as a matter of «abundant precaution». MEA official spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal, in response to a query during a weekly media briefing here, said the advisory is not a «not a travel advisory» restricting the Indians to travel to Beirut. Some reports had claimed that India has issued a travel advisory for its nationals. «Our embassy in Beirut has issued an advisory. A lot of Indian nationals stay there, work there… there are professionals. As per the information that I have, about 2,000-3,000 people are there. Our embassy is in constant touch with them. We have not issued any travel advisory. We have just said that they should keep in touch with the embassy, so that if there is any incident, we can take action as soon as possible,» he said.

Finance Minister Ajit Pawar announced on Friday that the subsidy of Rs 5 per litre for milk producers in Maharashtra will be extended, as he presented the state's budget for 2024-25 in the legislative assembly. This budget marks the final one before the assembly elections for the BJP-Shiv Sena-NCP government. Pawar also stated that the state plans to establish 18 new medical colleges. Milk Producer Subsidies Pawar further mentioned that Rs 223.83 crore in subsidies have already been disbursed to 2.93 lakh registered milk producers at the rate of Rs 5 per litre. He assured that the remaining subsidy will be distributed promptly. Farming Initiatives

CBI on Friday arrested the principal and vice principal of a school in Jharkhand's Hazaribagh in connection with the NEET-UG paper leak case, officials said. Ehsanul Haque, the principal of Oasis School, was made the city coordinator of Hazaribagh for the medical entrance exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on May 5, they said. Vice Principal Imtiaz Alam was designated as the NTA's observer and the centre coordinator at the Oasis School, officials said, adding the CBI is also questioning five more people from the district in connection with the paper leak case. The federal probe agency arrested Haque and Alam after detailed questioning, they said.

Karnataka, he wrote, wanted to set up a Central Business District that would act as a global financial and IT hub. “The state has a vibrant economy with IT, BT, aerospace, automotive, textiles, and heavy industries forming the cream of the investment pie. The state is strategically located, and is well-positioned to replicate a similar business [on the lines of GIFT city] hub in its bosom,” he said.
