Reliance Jio has hiked the prices of its prepaid and postpaid plans by 12-25 percent. The new prices will come into effect from July 3, 2024. Alongside the tariff revision, Jio has also increased the entry-barrier to use free unlimited 5G data under its “Jio Welcome Offer.”
Currently, “the Jio True 5G Welcome Offer applies only to users with 5G devices, located in cities where Jio True 5G services are available and have a valid active prepaid or postpaid plan of Rs 239 or above.” This won’t be the case from July 3 onwards though.

Now, if you want to use unlimited 5G, you’ll have to shell out more money. Reliance Jio has announced that it will offer unlimited 5G data on all 2GB/day and above plans from July 3.
The most affordable prepaid plan with 2GB/day data will be worth Rs 349 once the price hike becomes effective. Currently, it is available for Rs 299. Some of the other Jio prepaid plans with 2GB/day data include Rs 629 (currently Rs 533) and Rs 859 (currently 719). Validity period ranges from 28 to 84 days.
While not explicitly confirmed, Jio’s popular postpaid plans—Rs 349 (currently Rs 299) and Rs 449 (currently Rs 399)—should continue to offer unlimited 5G services.
Jio also offers a Rs 61 “5G upgrade” add-on plan that lets anybody try out its 5G services with any active plan. The catch is that the add-on comes with a data cap of 6GB. The price of this add-on has also been increased by Rs 8 though it should continue to provide 5G to users on plans with less
