FDA officials raided the popular kebab establishment in Mumbai, Bademiya, following a series of complaints regarding hygiene standards at the 76-year-old eatery. During the inspection, FDA officials allegedly unearthed distressing evidence of cockroaches and rats infesting the restaurant's kitchen. Reportedly, the eatery does not have even an official licence issued by the Food Safety & Standards Authority of India (FSSAI). The restaurant owner, in response, acknowledged the absence of an FSSAI licence but asserted that all other necessary permits were in place. They further mentioned that the process of obtaining the missing license from the authority was already underway. «The license until Covid lockdown has been renewed, and for the latter period, we have applied for our license,» the owner told India Today.

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Wednesday launched the new e-Bhoomi portal to further ease the process of purchasing land for government projects with the land owners' consent. The government aims to purchase land in a transparent manner with the consent of the landowners, Khattar said. Now, apart from farmers, aggregators will also be able to offer land on this portal, he added. The aggregator must be an income taxpayer and must have a Parivar Pehchan Patra family ID, the chief minister said. The offer of land on the new portal would be valid for six months.

New Delhi: The government has exempted units of investment trusts and exchange traded funds (ETFs) issued by entities based in GIFT City or traded in exchanges there from capital gains tax. The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) notified the exemption from capital gains tax any unit of investment trust; a unit of a scheme; and a unit of an ETF launched under the International Financial Services Centres Authority (Fund Management) Regulations, 2022.
