Before he won in 2016, the Trump Organization expanded its business in India, signing deals in two more big cities. The day after Trump's victory in November, a developer in India told local media about half a dozen new deals. Like the others, Indian companies buy the land, build the high-rises, sell the units and pay a fee to use the Trump name. These deals are putting India even more squarely in the Trump Organization's sights. And with Trump on his way back to the White House, the country is emerging as center stage for potential conflicts of interest.

global capability centres (GCCs) in India, states are eager to grab a piece of the action. Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh are among those drafting their own GCC policies to attract multinationals with incentives to create back-office hubs outside the traditional hot spots of Bengaluru and NCR. Tejashwi Yadav on Sunday said he has no objection to any senior leader of the INDIA bloc, including TMC chief Mamata Banerjee, leading the coalition, but stressed that the decision must be reached through consensus. Yadav, who is the leader of the opposition in Bihar assembly, told reporters at the city airport, «INDIA bloc hasn't thought on this matter and there has to be a discussion involving all stakeholders.» «We have no issue with Mamata Banerjee leading the bloc, but keeping in mind there are so many senior politicians in the the anti-BJP coalition, there's a need to sit together and take a collective decision on choosing a leader,» he said.

Bashar al-Assad’s long-standing reign. The capture of the Syrian capital comes after rebels seized northern Aleppo last week and rapidly advanced southwards, overrunning key cities like Homs. The takeover severed Damascus from the Alawite-dominated coastal regions, long considered Assad’s stronghold. Two senior Syrian military officials confirmed that Assad fled the capital aboard a plane on Sunday. Flightradar24 data showed a Syrian Air aircraft departing Damascus but abruptly vanishing from radar. Speculation abounds about whether the plane’s transponder was deactivated or if it was downed. “It disappeared off the radar, possibly the transponder was switched off, but I believe the bigger probability is that the aircraft was taken down,” a source stated, speaking anonymously.

The 24-hour average Air Quality Index (AQI) of the city was recorded at 302 at 4 pm on Sunday, marking a deterioration compared to Saturday's reading of 233 (poor' category). Of the 38 air quality monitoring stations in the city, 23 reported air quality in the 'very poor' category on Sunday, compared to only two on Saturday.
