Farmers’ battle for MSP law. Is it a fair ask?
₹10 trillion and ₹15 trillion would be needed, some estimates have suggested. That would be comparable to the government’s capital expenditure outlay for 2024-25 of ₹11.11 trillion. However, a recent note by Crisil Research, a ratings agency, stated that if the government implemented a wider MSP policy in 2022-23, it would have needed a working capital of ₹6 trillion.

The Boom in Battery Metals for EVs Is Turning to Bust
When the world’s most valuable lithium company last year announced plans for a $1.3 billion plant in South Carolina, local officials hailed it as transformative for the Palmetto State. The high-tech project from Charlotte, N.C.-based Albemarle was designed to process different sources of lithium, including from recycled batteries, and serve as a supplier of the critical mineral for South Carolina’s burgeoning electric-vehicle industry. Less than a year later, those plans have been hobbled by a crash in battery metal prices, undercut by a slowdown in electric-vehicle sales growth in the U.S.

The SC in September allowed SpiceJet to clear arrears in the airline’s payment to Swiss financial services firm Credit Suisse over a dispute settlement in six months.
