COST Waters President country beautiful electronic International KTR slams Telangana govt for 'hosting beauty pageants' amid farmers' suicides
Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President K T Rama Rao launched a scathing attack on the Congress-led Telangana government for prioritizing beauty pageants over addressing the «escalating crisis of farmer suicides in Telangana.» Speaking in the Assembly on Tuesday, KTR criticized the government's decision to spend Rs 55 crore on events like Miss World while claiming that farmers are struggling without drinking or irrigation water, according to a statement released by his office. «When the state is reeling under distress, with farmers taking their lives, the government is busy organizing beauty contests. These events have no relevance or necessity,» KTR said. He demanded that the government explain how the pageants generate jobs or revenue. He accused the administration of projecting them as a grand international achievement despite their declining global significance. KTR also slammed the government for «locking up» the statue of Dr BR Ambedkar, questioning why it has been excluded from the tourism circuit. «Why is Ambedkar being held captive behind locks? Will they open it at least on his birth anniversary when followers from across the country visit?» he asked.

COST UPS economy social reports International Spring Statement 2025: Here’s what can be expected from Rachel Reeves’ speech
Rachel Reeves is getting ready to give the Spring Statement for 2025. She'll be talking about how the economy is doing and the challenges that are still ahead. However, with stalled tax receipts and increased borrowing costs, she is expected to announce £5 billion in public spending cuts. The details of these cuts will be outlined in the summer’s spending review. Reeves, as per media reports, will stress her commitment to fiscal discipline in spite of pressure from economists arguing against self-imposed constraints. A Guardian report stated that the Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR) is expected to confirm that October’s projections have shifted into the red. Reportedly, this was caused by a £10 billion shortfall due to higher debt financing and increased defence spending. To address this, international aid has already been reduced by £6 billion, the report stated and added that welfare cuts and civil service job reductions will also contribute to savings.

subsidy program that will benefit satellite internet providers like Elon Musk’s Starlink, but some state and federal officials worry the technology isn’t robust enough to connect Americans on a mass scale and at affordable rates. The Biden administration’s vision for the Broadband Equity and Access Deployment Program (BEAD), designed to deliver fast, reliable home internet service to every US household, leaned heavily on fiber-optic lines, a technology that’s expensive to install but can last for decades. The shift toward satellites is a result of extensive lobbying by Musk and has gained Republican support, including from Senate Commerce Committee Chairman Ted Cruz. State and former federal officials, several of whom spoke to Bloomberg on the condition of anonymity, described pitfalls with Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick’s new approach, which gives more opportunities for satellite terminals that are initially inexpensive, but can cost more over time. One state official shared internal data that showed satellite service costs consumers 53% more over the course of 30 years. Satellite service would also cost more than twice as much to maintain over that time frame, according the data.

The forecast assumes that the upcoming monsoon season will be normal and that commodity- especially crude-- prices will be soft. Cooling food inflation, the tax benefits announced in the country's budget for the fiscal year ending March 2026, and lower borrowing costs will support discretionary consumption in India, S&P said. The global credit rating agency expects central banks in the Asia Pacific region to continue cutting benchmark interest rates through this year.
