The EU’s CBAM has lent urgency to fair carbon prices
₹400 per tonne on domestic and imported coal are all emission charges. The government is also working towards a Carbon Credit Trading Scheme (CCTS), which is expected to accelerate our adoption of market-based price discovery for emissions. Nevertheless, carbon prices in India and the EU are unlikely to converge, since the determination of a carbon price is linked to the emission-reduction obligations of each country; these differ.

Lock your biometrics, prevent hacking linked to Aadhaar card: Ritesh Bhatia
Ritesh Bhatia, Cybercrime Investigator & Cybersecurity Consultant, says “from a user point of view, there is nothing much you can do except for locking your biometrics. I think that is something that every citizen of the country needs to do because somewhere or the other, the fingerprints can be stolen.” There are many reports about hacking of the biometrics linked with the Aadhaar card. Your view? When this entire debate on Aadhaar was going on, we were very concerned about it. We raised these questions that biometrics can be hacked and they said, no, it cannot be done and today it is a reality. It has been happening just like five years back we thought Deepfakes cannot happen but very soon that is going to become a part and parcel of your life. In fact, some of the anchors have already started creating Deepfake versions of themselves. So, what is happening over here is that there is something called AEPS, which is the Aadhaar Enabled Payment System. Now, what exactly is it? Now, if you go to some small villages where there are no ATMs or banks or are at quite a distance, there are micro ATMs or the POS devices, as we call it. They are very small. You just need to give your fingerprint over there, authenticate yourself and you will be given the money. Now, the money that is given is just Rs 10,000. Of course, you can withdraw more but the maximum limit is Rs 10,000 at one time and Rs 50,000 in the day, which means five times you can do this.

Look Who’s Building a Border Wall Now
It’s taken them a while, but perhaps Democratic leaders are beginning to understand that Trump deplorables aren’t the only voters who care about illegal immigration. It wasn’t long ago that President Biden was dismissing the massive surge of unlawful border crossings as a seasonal phenomenon, and New York Mayor Eric Adams was grinning ear-to-ear for the television cameras while welcoming migrants in person as they arrived at the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan. But that was then.

Vladimir Putin to travel to Kyrgyzstan in first known trip abroad since ICC arrest warrant
Vladimir Putin will visit Kyrgyzstan on Thursday, the presidential office of the Central Asian country said, in what would be the Russian leader's first known trip abroad since the International Criminal Court issued a warrant for his arrest. Putin has rarely travelled abroad since the start of Moscow's invasion of Ukraine in early 2022 and is not known to have left Russia since the ICC issued in March a warrant for him on suspicion of illegally deporting hundreds of children from Ukraine. The Kremlin denies those allegations. «At the invitation of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Japarov, on October 12 of this year, the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, will make an official visit to the country,» the Kyrgyz presidential administration said in a statement on its website. Putin agreed in May during talks with Japarov to visit Kyrgyzstan, but there has been no official confirmation yet from the Kremlin that the Russian president will travel there on Thursday. The Russian leader is also due to travel to China next week for the third Belt and Road Forum in Beijing.
