Does Modi play the tabla: Rabri Devi's response to PM's 'mujra' jibe
Narendra Modi's infamous "mujra" jibe, former Bihar chief minister Rabri Devi on Monday sought to pay him back in the same coin. «And what does Modi do? Play the tabla?», quipped the once shy homemaker, who reacted with horror when journalists drew her attention to the remark, before responding with a sarcastic smile. Modi had used the colourful imagery at rallies in Bihar addressed on Saturday when he accused the INDIA bloc, in general, and RJD in particular, of Muslim appeasement and keeping mum on the humiliation of migrants from the state by leaders of parties other than the BJP. Rabri Devi, whose husband Lalu Prasad is the RJD's founding president, also claimed that the BJP-led NDA will be routed in the elections, a reason why they had «gone crazy and taken to blabbering».

IMD retains above normal monsoon forecast, June temperature seen to be above normal
the forecast comes as a relief after uneven precipitation and prolonged dry spell last year due to El Nino weighing on farm output that pushed up food prices and led the central bank to cut interest rates.“A normal monsoon forecast by IMD this year will bode well for Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Odisha," Pushan Sharma, director-Research, Crisil Market Intelligence and Analytics, told Mint. However, statistically normal monsoon may not be enough and its spatial and temporal distribution will be critical. “For example, last year while monsoon was only 6% lower than LPA (long period average), its onset was delayed, and the spatial and temporal distribution was erratic.

Another Ambani vs Mittal battle? A look into Airtel's African empire
Africa as in India. It is the second-biggest telecom company in the continent after South Africa's MTN. Fourteen years ago, Bharti Airtel chairman Sunil Mittal took the brave decision to go to Africa and it has been a perilous journey for his company. Africa, where Mittal had expected to map India's telecom growth story onto the continent, turned out to be little like India with its sparse population as well as political volatility which would discourage any pioneer telecom company. Now that Airtel Africa seems to be out of the woods, and having acquired an elephantine footprint in 14 countries across the continent, a big challenge might be shaping up. Mukesh Ambani, the chairman of Reliance Industries (RIL), who disrupted India's telecom market with low tariffs and cheap handsets by launching Reliance Jio in 2015 and swept aside Airtel to become the market leader, is acquiring a tiny foothold in the African telecom market as a telecom tech and equipment vendor.
