Income Tax department has served a notice to senior PDP leader and Jammu and Kashmir MLA Waheed Para to submit his books of accounts, officials said on Sunday. Though, according to the notice, Para was scheduled to appear before the Income Tax authorities on December 20, he received the intimation on the same day. While the People's Democratic Party (PDP) leader — the MLA from Pulwama in south Kashmir — was not available for comment, his close aides said his representative would appear at the Income Tax office on Monday. Para was served a notice under Section 131(1A) of the Income-Tax Act that empowers a tax officer to seek information from taxpayers, even when no formal proceedings are pending.

SpaDeX mission has been integrated and moved to the first launch pad of Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota, ISRO said on Saturday. This mission is intended to develop and demonstrate a technology needed to dock and undock spacecraft in space, apart from other things. «The launch vehicle has been integrated and now moved to the First Launch Pad, for further integration of satellites and launch preparations,» ISRO said in a post on the social media X. SpaDeX mission is a cost-effective technology demonstrator mission for the demonstration of 'in-space docking' using two small spacecraft launched by PSLV, ISRO said in an explainer on the subject.

Bengaluru civic body has issued a notice to former India captain Virat Kohli’s One8 Commune pub on a complaint alleging fire safety violations. The pub, located on the sixth floor of Ratnams Complex on Kasturba Road near the Chinnaswamy stadium, has been alleged of operating without implementing mandated fire safety measures or obtaining a fire department clearance certificate. BBMP's notice comes after a notice filed by social activist Venkatesh, who claims that the lack of fire safety measures poses a risk.

Minimum temperatures dropped several notches below the freezing point in other parts of the valley as well. In Srinagar, the temperature came down to minus 8.5 degrees Celsius on Friday night from minus 6.2 degrees Celsius the previous night, the meteorological department said. It was Srinagar's coldest December night since 1974, when the city recorded a low of minus 10.3 degrees Celsius, and the third coldest since 1891.
