India's aviation regulator, Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), on Wednesday issued an advisory circular focusing on gender equality within the sector. The circular, called “Gender Equality in Civil Aviation Sector”, was issued in line with the principle of gender equality that is enshrined in the Constitution of India and ICAO’s vision for promoting equal opportunities to achieve gender equality in aviation. With this move, the DGCA aims to increase the number of women in various positions to a desirable representation of 25 per cent by 2025 within the aviation industry in India, said the circular.

The project, initiated in March 2021 at the instance of the NITI Aayog, shows numerous red flags,» Ramesh said in a statement, which he also posted on X. «The Congress demands an immediate suspension of all clearances and conduct of a thorough impartial review of the proposed project, including by the parliamentary committees concerned,» he said.

The Eco-sensitive Zone shall be 497.67 square kilometre with an extent of 0.10 kilometre to 8.7 kilometre around the boundary of Bhitarkanika National Park, Bhitarkanika Wildlife Sanctuary and Gahirmatha (Marine) Wildlife Sanctuary, said assistant conservator of forest (ACF) of the national park, Manas Das. Eco-sensitive zone (ESZ) is a buffer area covering 205 villages of Aul, Pattamundai, Rajnagar, Rajkanika and Mahakalapada blocks in Kendrapara district and Chandabali block in Bhadrak district around the core protected forest areas to minimize human-wildlife conflict, promote in-situ conservation of wildlife and reduce the impact on fragile ecosystems, he said.
