Uddhav Thackeray does 'dogli rajneeti', he is totally opposite to Balasaheb: Eknath Shinde
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Tuesday accused Uddhav Thackeray of doing «dogli rajneeti» (double-faced politics) and alleged that his predecessor was plotting an attack on his house while pretending to be making a peace offer for his return to the Shiv Sena after they split nearly two years ago. Shinde, who now heads the «real» Shiv Sena, also said Uddhav was totally opposite to the party founder Balasaheb Thackeray and was only interested in furthering his self-interest, unlike his father who always stood by his party's workers and never went back on his words.

Yes, releasing the EVM source code could improve our polling system’s security
This year, as with nearly every recent election, questions were raised about the functioning of electronic voting machines (EVMs). While the Supreme Court upheld their use in elections, when asked if the source code of EVM machines could be released for open source use, it tersely shut down that line of argument, pointing out that if the source code is released, it would be misused. While I have no desire to wade into the debate over whether and how electronic voting machines should be used, I do want to unpack the Supreme Court’s somewhat offhand rejection of open source.

Record immigration is colliding with housing crises across the world
economic growth is faltering. For decades, the rapid inflow of migrants helped countries including Canada, Australia and the UK stave off the demographic drag from aging populations and falling birth rates. That’s now breaking down as a surge of arrivals since borders reopened after the pandemic runs headlong into a chronic shortage of homes to accommodate them. Are you immigration ready? Find out Canada and Australia have escaped recession since their Covid contractions, but their people haven’t with deep per-capita downturns eroding standards of living. The UK’s recession last year looked mild on raw numbers but was deeper and longer when measured on a per-person basis.

Deepak Shenoy wants to buy LIC & BSE on further fall. Here’s why
Deepak Shenoy, Founder, Capital Mind, says “I believe longer term, LIC is still a good play. Even from here, the fourth quarter is likely to be pretty good because they recognise a certain set of revenues only in the fourth quarter related to their participating policies, the 7.5% of profit that they will share with shareholders is taken out entirely in the fourth quarter, so that will be a fairly large chunk to add. Also we are still buying BSE because despite what happened recently in terms of SEBI giving them a notice about paying up for the options volumes on a notional basis rather than on a premium basis, they have increased their rates and perhaps are going to recover any future charges from customers directly.”

Creating short positions in the market; expect 1,000-4,000 pts correction post election: Aditya Arora
Aditya Arora, Adlytick, says “markets are pretty overvalued in terms of PE ratio, price to book ratio and technically also. We believe there will be a correction of 1,000 to 4,000 points from the top. If we see a good outcome in the election, there could be a short-term spike in the market. So, whatever is the top for the market, from there we see a correction of 1,000 to 4,000 points. We can see froth all over – in midcaps, smallcaps and largecaps also, although largecaps are already correcting. So, we are creating short positions in the market on the rise.” What is your view on the market right now? How would you trade in Nifty, Bank Nifty? What is your positioning? Or are you sitting out right now? Aditya Arora: We are positioned in the market, preparing for a 1,000-4,000 point of correction in Nifty post election. The reason is that a lot of people have priced in great growth in markets post election expecting the BJP government to come back to power. If you look at PE multiples of various stocks and sectors, then it is touching sky high levels.
