Don't see any central banks in Asia cutting rates until the Fed does: Mark Matthews
«I think the overriding is that the strong earnings growth in India and the fact that it is the domestic investors who are deciding the direction of the market much more than in the past when it was foreigners who would be held back by investing in emerging markets because they were worried about a stronger dollar. So, I feel same as I felt two years ago that it is still a good market,» says Mark Matthews, Julius Baer. Now, May is likely to be a very hectic month, full of data points, especially global mixed data points coming out of US. Here, we are already looking at progress of monsoon, earnings, and polls. What is your current positioning as far as Indian markets go? Well, we have been bulls on India for, I guess, around two years now and there is no change to that view. Of course, emerging markets are often slowed down by a stronger dollar and we have had a stronger dollar up until a couple of days ago.

Services row: SC to consider listing plea of Delhi govt against central law
Supreme Court on Friday told the Delhi government that it would consider listing its plea challenging the central government's law establishing pre-eminence of the lieutenant governor over the elected dispensation in controlling services in the national capital. A bench comprising Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud and justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Misra was urged by senior advocate Abhishek Singhvi, appearing for the AAP government, that the whole administration has come to a standstill and the matter needed to be heard. The CJI said presently a nine-judge bench matter is going on and he will consider the submission. Presently, the nine-judge bench headed by the CJI is hearing petitions raising a vexed legal question whether private properties can be considered «material resources of the community» under Article 39(b) of the Constitution, which is a part of the Directive Principles of State Policy.

'Congress may not win more than 30 seats' says BJP candidate from Bengaluru South Tejasvi Surya
BJP candidate from Bengaluru South constituency, Tejasvi Surya, cast his vote in Bengaluru on Friday and stated that the Congress party may not win more than 30 seats in the Lok Sabha polls. While speaking to after casting his vote, he stated that surveys consistently show that the Congress party may not win more than 30 seats. «Congress party has become absolutely frustrated. Survey after survey shows that it may not win more than 30 seats… The more personal attacks and baseless allegations they make against the PM, history has shown that the Prime Minister has only gotten stronger and the BJP has only gotten more popular,» he said.

BHEL & Ircon are real "fire in the belly", will outperform till elections at least: Sanjiv Bhasin
Sanjiv Bhasin, Director, IIFL Securities, says “in midcap IT, we are overweight on LTIM. We have been very positive on HCL Tech and Wipro. Wipro is our top largecap pick along with HCL Tech. However, the real fire in the belly is BHEL and Ircon. Put your money there because those are going to be the real outperformers at least till the elections.” Yesterday there was a good short covering. The May series will see a confluence of a lot of factors – the progress of monsoon, progress of polls, progress of earning season and now the US data. What do you think? Sell in May and go away will work or just like last time round, it would not work this time as well? Sanjiv Bhasin: You have been on a nice holiday in April. I suggest you take another break in May because yes, selling in May and going on a holiday is very much on the card. Markets have ignored all news and are relentless in their rally to upside and now all good news including NDA getting 450 seats on the poll front are also getting priced in. So, I would advise a lot of caution, particularly in stocks and sectors, which are not aligning with the growth which has come.

While past performance does not indicate future results, historical market trends can provide insights. <div data-placement=«Mid

‘A damn hard thing to do’: Tesla co-founder JB Straubel takes on battery recycling
Tesla Inc. co-founder JB Straubel wasn’t content with simply reinventing the automobile for the 21st century. He left in 2019 feeling he needed to redesign the global supply chain for the electrified future, too. That’s exactly what he’s been doing for the last five years. The company he built, Redwood Materials, is now the largest battery recycler in North America, and it’s using those recycled materials to manufacture complex battery components that have traditionally been imported from abroad, largely from China. Straubel recently opened the doors for a first peek at the 300-acre industrial campus he’s built in the western Nevada desert. He said it hasn’t been easy.
