Steve Bannon comes down heavily on George W. Bush for not shaking Donald Trump's hand at Jimmy Carter's funeral and rants that Bush is the second-worst president in U.S history
US President- elect Donald Trump pretty recently criticized former US President George W. Bush for not shaking Donald Trump's hand during former US President Jimmy Carter’s funeral, reported Daily Beast. According to Daily Beast, on his War Room podcast, Steve Bannon labeled former US President George W. Bush as ‘the worst president in the history of the country’ being second only to James Buchanan and actually expressed severe disdain for ‘Bush-related’ individuals while calling them ‘bitter’ and eventually lacking class. Steve Bannon also recounted how that how former US president George W. Bush walked past US President- elect Donald Trump without even an acknowledgment and then instead greeting former US President Barack Obama which he actually interpreted as an attempt to humiliate Donald Trump, asserted Daily Beast. Adding onto that, he also noted that while Donald Trump reportedly does not care about the snub, Steve Bannon found it eventually indicative of a broader disrespect from the George W. Bush camp.

Judge sentences Trump in hush money case but declines to impose any punishment
Donald Trump was sentenced Friday in his hush money case, but the judge declined to impose any punishment. The outcome cements Trump's conviction before he returns to power before while freeing him to return to the White House unencumbered by the threat of a jail term or a fine. Trump's sentence of an unconditional discharge caps a norm-smashing case that saw the former and future president charged with 34 felonies, put on trial for almost two months and convicted by a jury on every count. Yet, the legal detour — and sordid details aired in court of a plot to bury affair allegations — didn't hurt him with voters, who elected him to a second term.

Budget 2025: Will it be BJP’s big budget or AAP’s freebies for Delhi voters this February?
BJP, despite its dominant presence nationally, managed only eight seats. One thing common between then and now is the timing of these elections—right after the Budget, set to be presented by the incumbent BJP. Now, as Delhi heads to the polls once again in February 2025, the stakes couldn’t be higher. The BJP may or may not have been betting big on a transformative budget to sway Delhi voters, promising to revolutionise the city’s infrastructure, transport, and housing. However, dousing the fire of the saffron party, the Election Commission’s recent warning against the use of the Budget for Delhi-specific schemes has set the stage for a contentious political showdown.

Trump’s obsession with Greenland has put the world’s largest island in an unexpected position of power
Trump’s obsession with Greenland has put the world’s largest island in an unexpected position of power. While Trump’s 2019 bid for the Arctic territory was dismissed as little more than a joke, the president-elect’s timing is better this time around — Greenlanders are intensifying their push for independence from Denmark. Within the next three months, they will hold a general election that will take the temperature of that relationship. Greenland is not for sale. But its new position gives it the ability to play the US and Denmark off of each other – a dynamic that might ultimately see it come out on top.

Hearing in Rahul Gandhi defamation case postponed to January 22 due to lawyers' strike
Rahul Gandhi, scheduled for Friday at an MP-MLA court here, was postponed due to a strike by lawyers. Advocate Santosh Kumar Pandey, representing complainant Vijay Mishra, stated that the special court's magistrate Shubham Verma has now scheduled the hearing for January 22 to complete cross-examination. The case dates back to 2018 when Mishra, a local BJP politician, filed a defamation complaint against Gandhi. Mishra alleged that Gandhi made objectionable remarks during the Karnataka assembly elections that deeply hurt him. After a prolonged five-year legal process, Gandhi failed to appear in court, leading the presiding judge in December 2023 to issue a warrant for his appearance. Gandhi surrendered before the court in February 2024.
