Trent (TRENT), a subsidiary of Tata Group, and Indian public sector aerospace and defence electronics company Bharat Electronics (BHEL) may find a place in the Nifty 50 index in the Index Maintenance Sub-Committee meeting to be held on August 23, according to JM Financial. LTI Mindtree (LTIM) and Divis Laboratories (DIVI) are likely to be excluded, it said. The Nifty 50 index is reviewed twice a year, based on six-month data ending January 31 and July 31. The index represents 50 stocks based on free-float market capitalization and liquidity, with an average impact cost of 0.50% or less for 90% of the observations for a basket size of Rs 10 crore. The next index reshuffle will be effective from September 30.

industrial real estate IndoSpace is planning to invest over Rs 580 crore to develop two new logistic parks spread over 76 acres in Karnataka as part of the commitment made by the company through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed with the state government. In 2022, IndoSpace entered into a seven-year pact with the government, with a commitment to invest Rs 3,000 crore in the state's warehousing and logistics industry. This investment, the largest ever by an industrial developer in Karnataka, is expected to create 14,000 new jobs. “These parks will have a total development potential of 1.8 million sq ft and are targeted at industries such as automobiles, engineering, electronics, and third-party logistics (3PL) operators. These parks will be developed in phases, and the work will commence this year with plans to make them operational over the next 2–3 years,” said Rajesh Jaggi, Vice Chairman, Real Estate, The Everstone Group.

Prominent names that have recently got approval include Chinese electronics major Luxshare, which is also a vendor for Apple, and a joint venture (JV) between Bhagwati Products (Micromax) and Huaqin Technology, in which the Chinese company will own a minority stake. Other proposals cleared include some Taiwan-based firms listed in Hong Kong or having investments from there.

Tata Motors on Wednesday said it has tied up with Delta Electronics India and Thunderplus Solutions to set up charging infrastructure for its range of electric commercial vehicles (CVs). As part of the MoU inked between the parties, 250 new fast-charging stations for electric commercial vehicles would be set up across the country. Strategically located in and around over 50 cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Pune, and Kochi, among others, these new charging stations will significantly increase the existing network of 540 commercial vehicle charging points, Tata Motors said in a statement. Basis its understanding of the commercial EV movement, the commercial vehicle major will recommend optimal locations and nearest dealerships for setting up the fast-charging stations, the company said.
