Disney+ has announced that Rivals, an adaptation of Jilly Cooper’s popular novel, will premiere on October 18 in the UK. The announcement was made by Lee Mason, Disney’’s director of scripted content in Europe, at the Edinburgh TV Festival. U.S. viewers can watch the series on Hulu.
The series is part of the Rutshire Chronicles and is set in 1980s England. It explores the power dynamics and social elite of the time. The story focuses on the intense rivalry in the independent television industry in 1986.
